Maps/Patcher

Ok This kinda sucks downloading all these maps via patcher 1 by 1. Is there a way to download them in bulk in a RAR or ZIP file that would reduce the file size and let the patcher unzip them?. I can understand that having the server pack maps every time a change is made would be hard but maybe have 1 set that is ziped and you could click an option on the patcher "first time install" and it would download a preziped map pack unzip it then check to see if any of the files have been updated then download those?.

Thanks for the Review gimme a reply thanks

Not sure what i can help you with check all the stickys on how to get started theres some really good newbie guides

Well if you followed the guides you would know that its where ever you installed "said game" before if you just clicked install on "said game" then it would be c:/program files/****/eq(or "Saidgamename")/

that would be a yes but i made a copy of that game folder and renamed it to SOD
id advise doing that as well

Is there maybe a chance we can in the future make it so the patcher doesnt patch maps at all?

It totally destroyed custom maps

Download and install the map pack, and it won't have to download each individually. It's a one time thing though, so you won't have to do it again.

is there anyone i can talk to about it? i really want to play

Looks like you got your problem solved, but IRC is always the place to talk to someone. This, and the rest of your questions are all answered if you'd just read the info available on the web site.

It only includes the zonename.txt files. Any in-game mods go into the zonename_#.txt files, so it won't overwrite those. If you want custom maps, just move them to one of the _#.txt files. Once it's successfully downloaded the maps once, it won't try again unless a map changes (and it'll only download the changed map) or you repatch all.

ah snap I had everything in the first file, so I guess Ill have to rename to _1.txt for our mappack...at least it's clear.
Still a checkbox sounds like a good idea if it's feasible.

It's feasible, but a good chunk of work so create a new "set", and relatively low priority given the work-around and the list of other things that need to be done.
