I was talking to another mage about the Ah-Ah elemental forms yesterday. He said he wouldn't have bought the fire elemental form if he knew the ATK increase component was for melee attacks and not for spell damage increase. I was thinking about it and of all the other elementals, that is the only one that would have something useless for us.
Air has resists, levitate and see invis, could always use that. Water form has HP regen and underwater breathing, also useful. Earth has extra HP plus STA (I think something else but cant remember). HP is always handy. Fire has a DS (pretty handy), Fire resists (useful as well) and ATK increase (whoa there, buddy!). The last time I meleed I was probably level 20.
I was thinking that instead of an ATK increase we could get a spell Damage Increment to it. Perhaps like this:
Fire elemental form, level 1 - no spell damage increment
Fire elemental form, level 2 - Damage Increment 1
Fire elemental form, level 3 - Damage Increment 2
Or perhaps a speed casting increment buff. Mage nukes have a pretty long cast time. Perhaps, like above, we could get a speed casting increment at level 2 and 3.
Another idea would be, since the elemental forms dont stack with Shape of the Channeler (ench crit buff), fire form could give us an increased chance to crit.
If the ATK increase on fire form gets passed on to the pet if you also have the Elemental Mastery Ah-Ah, then it's ok the way it is.
I do realize that all the elemental forms (aside from water) were already buffed up by giving them all an FT component. But also, all the other forms (aside from fire's ATK) had something that was useful to a mage.

Happy now, Tapein?
