Oh cool. That's sounds really awesome Wiz. Thanks for looking into this. I highly think it's going to make there be more mage mains and help them to stick to their guns on the server. :)

Is there any kind of eta on the AA revision?

Sometime this week. I'm revising a lot of AAs for other classes too.

Here's an idea. Perhaps keep the black sapphire component and the horrendously long recast delays, but make the spell summon a NO RENT NO DROP item that the mage can right click for the arrows or whatever was originally summoned by this spell, pre-change.

With your changes a while back to where NO RENT items do not disappear for 30 mins, there shouldn't be too much grief with LD's or short zone/server outages.

I personally would lean toward this idea rather than the lowering of the component cost you mentioned, because this at least gets me somewhat out of the summon spam mode. You know, a mage shows up and you can have like 20 minutes of summoning stuff for a normal party and remedding. Food, Water, Normal Arrows or Darts, Locket(s) of Searfire, sundry other items for resists, lev,EB and then you have to tack on the high end summons that take a black sapphire. I'd rather just do one big honkin' high end black sapphire summon, than do 10x the casts with just fire opals, even if the mana cost was lowered - I'd prefer less spam time.

If you were a froglok, I'd hop all over you!

You might as well allow magic arrows to work with endless quiver.

And at 15hp regen on water illusion a mage with a canni worm still wouldnt use any other form.

How about stripping the FT from all of them and making them single group illusions with slighted elemental properties?

Or something along those lines since as long as just themage is using the illusion they'll pick out whatever helps them nuke more and stick to it..
Just an idea.

With the new mana regen changes it's better off to just sit and med, than canni. That's only when you reach a certain point of FT items however.

And if your straight canning you'll still lose more health than you gain, as 15 a tick is 15 hps in 6 second, whereas canni takes like 36hps(?) and you can cast it taking 4 seconds. I still think you would lose more hps than gaining, which is what matters. Also, AAs that cost 9 with requirements should be good :(

Wow, you made aa's and spells fun enough to make me dream of mages again. I played a 66 mage on live and like mages here, i got bored. Well, that and the fact that live just sucks...but oh, i better not get off track.

The ft4 to all illusions was like one of the BEST improvements ive seen, bravo! Also, new summons would be awsome! and I ask mages all the time for weapons for my weak little chanty pet! Dont lie Elitra ;) well, maybe not amelor...but you get it. Yea, a few different DD procies would be nifty. Or something, maybe +dmg mods with elemental resists. That and I cant wait to see how MS is going to work. Im not even a mage and im excited about that lol.

Just for clarification....it's not for ALL illusions. Mages have 4 AA abillities each costing 9 AAs. They give you illusions Air, Water, Fire, and Earth, they each have different abilities.

Air gives you 25 to all resists, levitate, and see invis
Earth gives you 20 Stamina and 200hps
Water gives (used to) FT 4, Water breathing
Fire gives a stackable DS and some skill modifier...or something like that

I'm just going from what I remember, I don't have the exact info here. NOW however instead of JUST water illusion having 4 FT, all of them do so that water isn't completely superior to the other AA illusions. Wiz also comphensated water illusion by giving it hps regen.

I believe that this does not apply to enchanters...if that's what your thinking. Your spell is a level 35- spell....it wouldn't have the same benifit as an AA that costs 9 points plus alot of AA/level requirements.

I totally understood that, like i said i played a mage on live, and had fire form :D (yes, the lamest one, but I loved me my DS!!!) so yea...anyways, if that was for clarification for others...my bad, s'cuse me!

I've been itching for an update to this topic, literally thinking about it right and left! You actually said you are revising lots of AA's, and that excites me. Can we get any little hints about how these are going to be? Im sure other people cant wait either. Also, what were your ideas about new mage summons? I assumed you meant weapons with different procs or effect, but again, I am totally curious, and I can never wait, its to hard!

I hate to do such a late bump on this, but I'm curious if the other two AA changes involving elemental barrier and frenzied burnout being replaced are going to happen? I just don't want to waste the AA's if it's going to happen in the near future.

I know you got alot of other stuff to deal with Wiz, but I'm just hoping for a status update.

I'm sorry for bringing this old topic back but I don't feel like spamming forums with new one.

I'd only like to know what % to crit Fury of Magic 1, 2 and 3 give?

And Archmage's creation was replaced with elemental barrier again (or am I blind?). Was this because of added FT to elemental forms or is the reason something else?

Thank you in advance.

Elemental Barrier: REMOVED

Replaced with: Archmage's Creation. Archmage's Creation summons a powerful staff that is a substantial upgrade to your Staff of the Magi. This staff is not droppable but can be wielded in your hand or slung over your back. It is a formidable melee weapon and provides enchanced mana regeneration. Each level of the ability increases the power of the staff.

Frenzied Burnout: REMOVED

Replaced with: Elemental Guardian. Elemental Guardian temporarily allows your pet to tank over human players and also infuses the pet with a massive aggression proc. Lasts for 2 minutes.
Haven't seen these two go in yet. Wondering if the dev's forgot about it or are they no longer going in?

I am wondering that, too. I thought they'd been re-removed or something due to the old-timer-post.
