Mage versus Beast pets for soloing

If you share your yogurt with me, how much of my yogurt do you end up with? I don't even like yogurt!
 
Well in this case it is a third party giving the yogurt isn't it. When he gives the yogurt to me, I give half of it to you. In a equal sharing model, if he gave you some yogurt wouldn't you share half of that yogurt to me?
