Mage Pets

I would like to suggest that pets or at least the Mage pets be made to equip Mage summoned items such as the haste ring or the sealocket that allows for critical spells. Since Mages are summoners and their items could help benefit their pet I feel this would be a great addition to the class. They can already equip the weapons how about the items and have the effects work?
 
We mages have no problem at all with what we have right now, so nothing has to be changed actually :) Our pet can equip any weapon, so we can summon a sword and they will equip it and use it in combat. There is no need to overpower the class :p
 
Ok thanks for your opinion. although I don't see how allowing them to critical would overpower our class.... but I don't want this turn into that type of post I wasn't even looking for opinions back just posted a suggestion to the development team. If they wish to go any further with it they'll let us know otherwise just leave the post for a message to them PLEASE

Here are some things I want to throw out there that I'd love to see the mage class get. Completely self biased, of course....

A. An AA, or something, to re-enable pet melee crits.

B. A bigger variety of pet equipable weapons, we get nothing passed L39.

C. Longer duration, or shorter reuse, Frenzy Burnout. It only doubles pet damage for like 60 sec and can only be activated once an hour. FB is useful on tougher single 1 group mobs but usually isnt helpful against multi pulls where it runs out before the CC'er can release all the mezz'd mobs.

D. Make Elemental forms have a slighted effect on GROUPED players. i.e. Fire form gives your group a DS effect stackable with the normal mage spell DS line, Air form gives the group a bonus to all resists and levi, Earth gives everyone a stm/hp bonus. Only one usable at a time of course.

E. Change Turn Summoned AA, which supposedly casts a "fear" spell (which all summoned creatures seem to be immune to because fear doesnt work) and a 1000ish dot (which likewise doesnt work) into a Harm Touch type skill that only works on a single target summoned creature or construct and has the same damage capability as a Shadow Knights Harm touch or a wizards Ultimate Blast. Mages already get a paladins lay on hands for their pet in the AA "mend pet" so might as well get the HT ability too.

F. It'd be cool to summon monst...oh wait....

First of all, it's being worked on. It's a lot of tedious work to do, since we need an entry for every model in every zone. Count those up... that's a lot of models. That's a lot of entries.

Secondly, it was merely a novelty on live. It was never more useful than any other pet, sometimes even less, since they were generally a bit weaker and had random elemental pet abilities (so you could get an earth pet one time, or a fire pet another, and it just looks different.) It's not going to make the mage class any stronger. I know this for a fact, for I played a 65 mage on live.

Thirdly, it's never going to get monster abilities. You'll never be able to summon a dragon in WW and have it AE or whatever. It's just too hard to balance, and cause a general uproar amongst other members of the community.

Monster summoning will be in. It will be a cool thing for about a week, and then you will forget about it. Nevertheless, it will be working soon enough.
