Logging in to official EQ?

Hey guys, I feel really silly for not even being able to start game. I followed the directions and patched my game folder. I run the game through the patch file, all good, but then when I log in, it seems to be the official server (i have no subscription, so obviously i can't log in). I looked at my eqhost file, and it seems to be the right address. In the directions it also said to delete any "UI" and the repatch. I'm not sure what this means. Thanks a lot!

make sure eqw points to eqgame.exe and not everquest.exe

I have same issue here, EQW is pointing to EQGAME.EXE
Altho I was also having an issue where it would try and run fullscreen and seemed to crash as could not click on the EULA Accept or decline only alt+F4 would get me back to windows.
Am running xp with latest Nvidia drivers

Sometimes you have to "click" the eula screen to get a mouse to show up on it. You can also try pressing tab once and then enter to hit the accept button. That's what I normally do, anyway. Just make sure you are tabbed onto that window.

Its odd the EULA opens up full screen and appears frozen but I can ALT F4 to shut it down but no other actions work, It would be better if it ran windowed, im going to look at the code think its /w or -w to open in a window in the cmd line. Failing that the only other thing different is that im poitning to an install within the station launcher. I dont have a hard copy of EQ except my original planes of power disk. After that I used digital DL up to GoD. Im contemplating making a fresh install from my PoP disk and patching it up to date then running SoD patcher but thats a last resort as internet running slow while my profile is updated on BT servers after a line fault

Check off the box Repatch All, and try again.

ive patched eq1 from the station launcher completly and re-ran the SoD patcher and repatched the whole thing, now all I get is a black screen, very odd will keep checking things but any other ideas are appreciated. Ive got twin nvidia 9800GT cards and can run the normal eq from launcher with no graphical errors.

Black screen with the EULA stuck on it means you have the wrong "eqgame.exe" file, the only way to get it is to repatch all. If you are sure you are doing that, then make sure you are NOT running EverQuest.exe at all, which will just repatch over top of ours and cause this problem.

ok I found out that might be the cause as ran SoD patcher and viewed log file as said were errors

I tried deleting the errored files and running patcher again but it halts as the files are not there hehe, so re-ran eq patcher to get the files again, closed launcher and ran SOD...same error again

all sorted now, a final patch without errors and I am creating my first toon now, thanks for the assistance

Always seem to hit a dead end...

I was having the same problem, I deleted the Escape to Norrath EXE because the non windowed mode kept running that file, I followed directions here (and restored the EscapetoNorrath.exe) and now I am getting an error that reads "ERROR: String not found. (303)" >.>
