Listsold Categories

The Vendor List has quite a lot of pages to skim through.. if there was an added command to the /listadd command that served to categorize vendors on the webpage, I think it would make it a lot easier to find things.

/cm listadd [category] [vendor list comment]

Categories could be like:

General(Mixed contents)
Equipment
Expandables (Potions, Urns, etc)
Tradeskill Items
Augments
Spells
Tomes

Example:
/cm listadd tomes <<Tomes R US>>

On the Vendor List webpage it would add this vendor list to the "Tomes" section as "<<Tomes R US>>". People trying to find Tomes would click on the Tomes section and find this easily.

However sweet and easy that would make our life, I believe the development team has expressed reluctance to streamline the listsold system any further. They want to avoid getting too close to WoW's Auction House or EQ's Bazaar, because those two systems have a negative impact on the game economy.

How does organizing the listsold vendor list ruin an economy? The same items are being sold regardless lol.

In so far as that it decreases the time required and the overall effort to find the cheapest offer on any given item, thus trivializing the information gathering process even more.

I still don't get how that alters an economy at all.. the item is still the same price regardless if it is easy to find on the webpage, or hard to find on the web page. So the goal is to make things take as long as possible to find on the web page?

because the easier it is to buy and sell all of a particular item in the market, the easier it is to manipulate the economy in undesired fashion lol.

the goal is to make players interact to sell items. the listsold system existing at all is a compromise.

I would prefer a higher listsold tax and an easier way to search for items. This would discourage using the listsold system yet save people time searching for items.

At least do this for spells. It is extremely annoying using the listsold system to buy spells. You have to memorize all the names of your 61-65 spells.

Just type out the spells you need, make a macro hotkey that offers 1k for each lvl 61 spell, and I guaruntee you won't have any issues finding them. However, the deal getter searches for 2 hours through the listsold list to find that same spell for 90pp which would have otherwise been bought by you or another player.

If everyone can buy cheaper, than there would be no competition to raise the prices. When people are lazy and don't want to search 11 pages, raised prices don't seem to be as bad, causing all other vendors to raise their pricing.

I.E. What they are trying to say is, has nothing to do with removing pp from the game, it has to do with making items retain their value out side of a vendor controlled atmosphere.
