Lifeward

Imo, Lifeward is one of those quests unbalanced on risk/reward. By the time you can get your guild to do one for you, you can have quested a couple upgrades already. I'm not saying it's bad. I quested mine, actually, if only as a mean to save mana... Just saying that it wouldn't unbalance the item horribly if it was clickable from inventory, since it's what it ends being for most clerics: a clicky rezz.

Considering that you cannot rezz in combat, this change would only mean saving 1 or 2 second switching it to offhand, but, in terms of comodity, would make it a little better

FG piece i got in a dozen fg kills.. these are also much easier, since a solid group can make 4 or 5 pulls and clear out FG placeholders, speeding up the process. Been through ice giants twice now, and not a single IG piece :/.

The value of the lifeward is the fact you don't have to wait for your clerics to get mana to raise people after wiping on raids. It's irreplacable and the quest used to be a whole lot more annoying when you actually had to kill top tier raid mobs, for the time, to get one as well as sit at no less than 4 camps that could last as long as 12 hours each.

The original poster wasn't asking for a change to the stats of lifeward, just to have it clickable from inventory.

Check that I said already that it's just a minor change, and just for comodity. Let's face the fact that not everyone is playing on NASA computers. So, there's this thing called lag. For some reason, switching gear takes a few moments, if done in raid, with 30 more people surronding you. You also have to time rezz properly to keep pulls comming. a few too many times, that extra 2 secons (just from switching gear, not considering rummaging thru bags) has meant having to wait a full fight... or a few of them.

What I propose is a minor change, that wouldn't affect reward, would just make it more comfortable and easy to use. [must equip] tag, if I'm right, it's intended to prevent some classes from using certain effects, unbalancing the game. I agree that a monk with a clickable lifeward would be unbalancing.. but this quest's available just for clerics, so there's no point on it having to be equipped.

Also, note that, once AA revamp planned for Turn undead is done, lifeward will loss almost any meaning, except for saving a little mana. No need to have a clickable rezz, when you can just create an npc that will rezz everyone.... and getting AAs is always easier than camping a particular drop... after all, even l blue mobs count toward AAs

Even when the turn undead AA is changed, i'm pretty sure most clerics will choose using the Lifeward to rez 5 players instead of burning a great AA to get them up. They'll be more likely to save the AA for complete (or close to it) wipes.

shanara99 whos your clr ?

Lifeward is a nice mana booster whit 130mana ( 30 whit an aug ) and 20 wisdom

Lifeward has proven itself as useful many many times for raiding. If I had to raid without Lifeward around, well, I'd just be sad.

Making it clickable from inventory sounds like a great idea. Considering how often its used it would be a major convienence for it to be that way.

and Latten, Shanara is Zaira :keke:

So, there's this thing called lag

You dont need a good computer to play toon whit.

450 mhz 384 ram and 16 mb worked for me to play a char in luclin
same computer i boxxed on a SK raid and it was a bit laggy but ch chain worked well .

Really, the only problem with the Lifeward is that every cleric and his mother has one. Which is a shame, 'cos otherwise, it looks pretty sweet. Perhaps there could be some way to change the 'glow' colour?

Anyway, I don't see a huge prob with making it inv clickable, but, that doesn't seem to be a common thing in SoD. Wear it, get the reward clicky. Not entirely sure why... 'magical items' and their magical effects don't necessarily, in a RP sense, have to be equipped to use... but it's a very minor thing, in this case... not like it's needed mid fight or anything.

Yah, I'm Zaira... and shield is only 100 mana... usually people put a mana augment on it.. thus 130 mana... And about lag... mostly depens on how many models do you load... with a couple models loaded, I'm going pretty decent.... but I couldn't dream of loading all of them. Some people are unable to load any, or they'd have a bad case of lag. And really... I don't see this giving any advantage... I mean... no other class could use it.. stats would be same... and it's just making it clikable like a potion, from inventory

I dont see... why... it is such a... problem... to switch it on... and off...

since the majority of clerics arent at capped wis, the +20 wis bonus provides and additional 120 mana, bringing an augged Lifeward up to 250 mana, which, for one slot, I would say if pretty fucking good for a quest as easy (but time consuming) and lifewar
