Level restrictions for PVP

I don't know what everyone's opinion on this is. But when I talk to the priest of war and become PVP flagged, it's pretty much a free for all, any level.

Personally I'd prefer a level range, like rallos, 4 up, 4 down, or the team servers 8 up, 8 Down. To prevent griefing from higher levels.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?
 
I'd prefer something like no chain killing the same person or something to prevent griefing than that.
 
as "easy" of an idea as level restrictions are.. and how much I would prefer them.. It just isn't realistic. IMHO.. that would be turning SoD toward an EQLive direction of making things easier just to keep people happy.

Come on, I'm talking about a feature 90% of the server doesn't even use anyways. Having some 65'er run up to a level whatever and just kill him in seconds is a tad bit overboard imo. (then again, it is only my opinon)

I'm just happy there's a pvp option at all, I can live with whatever.
 
I agree with this, my character (zeem) is a level 9 PK. I don't really mind being ganked like with Sullon Zek, but SoD is different. First of all I can't do anything legally to them except pierce them for 5 damage, and 2nd of all theres nothing to discourage them from randomly killing lowbies. And you lose exp even when killed by a red! Since SoD is relatively small in the pk department, there's no anti pk's looking out for the little guys, so I think a RZ type ruleset (within 7 levels tho) would be good, including item loot, if possivle. Of course leave pk optional!

BTW the PvP community has increased a bit since the new server come back, so we definately have a voice now :D.
 
Form a guild that is in charge of hunting down people who are red to those the pk for sport. The whole idea of pk though it to be able to back up your words. If someone is bothering you they have the option of listening to you or fighting you. If they are too low of a level they will learn quickly that you don' t want to listen to them. I would like to see the whole server pvp myself but I am not too worried if it doesn't go that way.
 
hahah you know what would be sweet (even if it's completely un-doable)

If you could pay some npc like 20pp and all of the sudden the guy who's name you gave the npc had like 20 tiny little rabbits spawn on him and kill him.

LOL Just the hilarity of it... I mean 20pp is pennies for something like that, but I'm thinking of a way a low level could get even for a high level bullying him. Maybe when a lower level is killed by someone 10 levels higher than him, it gives him a coin he could turn into an npc.

I dunno, I'm talking out my ass. The vision of some guy who feels good about himself for killing some lowbie getting raped by a platoon of cute little bunnies made me laugh.

Its so close to Reem, im sure if you petition in game a Gm will change it for you...
 
When the CnD came I was playing neverwinter nights online on a no restrictions and full pvp server, it sure was fun to have a level 40 appear next to you and use improved disarm to take your weapon and put it in their inventory instantly when you were level 15 :censored:

My point is, I think SoD needs improved disarm :D
 
That seems to completely defeat the purpose of no drop. Couldn't you start selling nodrop items by making them the only thing on your char, then losing a duel on purpose?
 
We won't be having item loot period, and the rabbit thing is retarded for reasons I shouldn't even have to go into.

I'd agree with an 8 lvl limit, although I havent heard of much greifing its only common sense and fair. On the other hand:

If you look at what was changed with these implementations, it wasnt making things any 'easier' than how it was previously. Wiz toned down the mobs to be doable by 36, and made a cap to limit a raid to only 36 players. This actually makes it harder as you cant just go zerging with 50+ players and make a good fight trivial. Also, translocators replaced the old nexus system, which may seem easier now, but you should have heard the bitching that ensued immediately after nexus was taken down :sadf:
 
I understand that, but I was pointing out that lots of things are added to a game to make things easier. This isn't about easy vs hard, this is about impossible chances a lower level has. It's grief.

I've seen it happen, when I low guy turns his name red, the higher levels jump all over it.
