Level 20-49 adepts - people availability?

Sludgebreath spawns were the AC was on live.

That said, some of the adepts have nice clickys but like Kukov said there not worth wasting weeks of xp. If its a alt more power to you for xp locking and getting the clicky. But if its your first time throw its not really worth the hassele unless a lot of friends you hang out with are all waiting around for it.

Basicly as I see it now... doing a adept is hit or miss until you get to 51. Before 51 you rarely will have someone willing to exp lock for the adept so your always trying to grab toons that happen to be in the right level range. Convince them to go to the adept and possibliey get debt and maybe 1 item of loot (12 toons 2 loot drops).

If adepts were a little easyer you can have greater range of toon levels and gear to take them down. It wouldn't be nearly as bother to get people to come to them since a hand full of toons could take them down and pick up a odd player here and there to fill the group out.

This is all been brought up before and nothing came of it last time, so dont really expect much this time around ether.

Pounder still has subpar loot after a year of it being the way he is. Can't really complain though, lavascale did get looked at finaly :) and i know the Devs are busy with more important things then to worry about weather or not someone is taking down a set mob like an adept.

adepts are 3 loot drops, and usualy there are an array of 2 boxers :)

EDIT: oh, and i've been downing eveyr adept up through the 36 ones with 9 people, so 3 loots, 9 characters, usualy 5 overall actual players, so thats a 60% chance one of your toons will get loot...I still see no issue with this

3 loots??? Since when....

I just flaten Rabb the rat for 2 loots....
Grikk for 2 loots...
Beetle queen 2 loots....

Only ones I knew that had 3 loots was Traek and Pounders....

rabb is always 1 loot......+3 of his "rat on a stick" (great item btw, I threw one at wiz once)

all other adepts are 3 loots...always have been for me, i've been killing them since january, and up to as recenetly as 2 days ago, and still as alwasy - 3 loots

snowskin, best pull clicky ever lol, there are quite a few good reasons to explock but each to their own

I was curious as to what you were talking about so I checked the wiki. It's a nice clicky I suppose, but hardly something you can't live without. But it got me flipping through other adept loot in the 30s-low 50s range.

None of it is that great. Now don't get me wrong, it's awesome for the level at which you get it. But there is nothing on those adepts that is going to last you into your 60s. And there shouldn't be, nobody has the same gear at 65 that they did at 42. You're not looking at game breaking items here. And that's probably why most people skip those adepts. It's just not worth it.

Most alts are created with the goal of grinding them up to 65 as fast as possible. Why stop, explock, hunt down people willing to raid with you, and TRY (because of course there's no guarantee it'll drop, nor that you'll be the only one who wants it) to collect an item you're going to replace within a week? Are there casual gamers who will use the stop Traekoth and the Pounders drop for fricken ever? Sure. But most people won't.

You can stop on a dime at 52 and try your damndest to get a BP off Ragarati. But I guarantee you, it'll be much simpler to just keep going on, hit 65, and get a different BP which far exceeds Ragarati's and was probably easier to get.

I guess my point is that most people completely blaze through the level range we're talking about. Explock is incredibly obonxious for reasons that Kukov mentioned. And while you could put it into AAs once you hit 51, there's still not much point. A whole slew of options is open to you once you hit 65 and the loot you got off a level 57 adept isn't going to be worth as much as you thought it would be.

In defense of traek loot, he does have some nice loots that will last you for awhile even 65 with 100 AAs

Headband of war, Dagger/staff of direction, Sensei gift All can last well into 65.

But over all like you said, none of the adepts loot is worth exp locking for.

Odd about the 3 item drop..... Traek and Pounders are the only ones I have ever seen drop 3 loots.

all adepts have been dropping 3 loots for a while now

EDIT: that said, when's the last time anyone has seen sludgebreath up...you sure he hasn't been taken out of the game?

So do you think that adepts under lvl 40 are ok? Maybe it's just a problem with 40-49 adepts where people just feel the aa-grinding and traek raids close and don't want to stay for long.

So unless you have problems with lvl 20-39 adepts, let's talk about lvl 40-49 ones.

When we killed Snowskin, only the 3 necros survived iirc. And it did drop 3 items. I usually play on euro times, but the only time I find more than 9 people online around the 40-43 range it is like 4am GMT in the weekend (kind of frustrating to stay until that late if you fail the raid).

On both raids I started gathering people around 2-3am trying to lure them in ooc. With only 2 or 3 responses, I switched to sending tells to them, this grants like 6 people more. Both times I ended up accepting people under lvl 40 because we were under the cap. You can expect to raid at 4 or 5am at best (I'm a wizard, so I provide ports).

However, the worst thing is not being able to play my wizard because I don't like explock.

Snowskin/Sensei's Gift are 2 that are a real godsend for monks. The insta-clicky = garenteed agro for running/agro splits (monk agros 1 mob, sk or other monk agros other mob, runs in opposite directions, both fd when 1 person reaches raid..). 0 weight/100 redux bag is very good, but you can buy for 7k. But still, having more of these bags = more room for clickies/resist gear/etc.

The only other high utility items I can think of is the wind-hags harvest clicky thing. Even that is running very thin at 65. People do Traek because its good loot that they can use up to 65... and if you aren't getting into a raiding guild, this may be = to some of the best loot they may get, since most casual guilds only get to tier 1-2. And anyone is typically welcome at Traek raid, and you don't need to spend alot of time investing in a guild.

Between my brother and I we have five well equipped level 42 characters. We're waiting to kill Sludgebreath. Haven't seen him spawned in the last week and a half, though. Just to confirm, is #2 where Sludgey spawns? That's what I was told, and have tracked across the zone and not really come up with much.

Once we kill Sludgebreath, we'll be leveling up to kill the next one and so on.

Dragging this thread back from the dead just to give an update -- Icefeather was just downed, took a full raid of 12, and four different attempts over three days. If Snowskin is anything like Icefeather, then yes the adepts 40+ definitely require more preparation than those under 40...sorry I doubted you at all, Bernat!

Our Icefeather raid used: 44shm, 44clr, 44rog, 44mnk, 43war, 42enc, 42clr, 41dru, 40rog, 40mag, 38shm and 38mnk. I Icefeather could be done with 10 decently equipped guys (if the classes are balanced right), maybe 9 or 8 if everyone is level 44 and very well equipped (not necessarily twinked). The thing is, Icefeather is not a raid that can just happen in an hour, normally.

Over three days, The numbers were online more often than not for Icefeather-- at 1PM-10PM PST. That means at GMT, you should be able to start finding people to raid around 9 or 10PM maybe, not 2 or 3AM. But then of course, a significant number of people online don't want to have anything to do with adepts, and in the case of Icefeather, having the right classes online of the right level and all willing to go for it was sheer luck.

***I guess the bottom line is, yeah you're going to need to be crazy and obsessed with adepts (like me) to get a raid going for 40+. Also, adepts beyond Redmaw are going to take more strategy...you can't just have ANY classes you want for Icefeather. However, insanity aside, it took me three days and four tries without any exceptional luck (or lack of luck) to get Icefeather done -- this is nothing at all like what I've heard about some people explocking for a month on Traekoth.***
