Hello,
I have played here before and had no problem getting the game up and running in the past - however this time I have no idea why, but the launcher keeps getting stuck @
"Getting Patch List."
This is a new machine (recently got out of hospital after an extended stay due to a very bad car accident) and so there is no anti-virus, firewall software installed, the firewall with windows is disabled however!
I thought it might have been my router, so I by-passed that entirely (after trying to forward ports and what not to no avail) and connected the box directly to the modem (cable connection) ... still not working!
I can connect to the SoD website via IE and Firefox - no idea why I can't connect with the patcher though =(
I have read the FAQ and I checked on IRC as well before making a post - sadly no one was really online there that could offer any advice, so I was prompted to make a post here.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance,

Ok, since I had everything backed up and since I haven't been here since 2007 my patcher was out of date and like a idiot I did not download the new patcher from the files section and thankfully wolf on IRC pointed this out to me (during the time I was posting this msg here and thus not looking at IRC) and so after getting the new patcher ... life is good and everything is working as it should.
