MAGICIAN: SLAARIEL WINS BY DEFAULT

Truly amazing! I know people out there are wondering about that Kiseble result, so I will tip this much to you: it was a team effort! All the hate was generated by Kiseble himself but he had help from Enchanters, Warriors, and who knows what else. Truly impressive.

Could you have done the same? Maybe! But Kiseble also takes the crown for total number of attempts at LITERALLY FIFTY! That's right! Fifty rounds with Cyzaine's Buddy to get that wonderful result so think about this next time you are fooling yourself that winning doesn't take effort and teamwork. Take it from the pages of this Hater's Bible: WINNING IS EFFORT!

Thanks to all for participating and best of luck next time around!

Hey some of the people you have listed as bards are actually rangers and I did some real attempts on drolkrad that were somewhere near 50k ish threat. But yeah cool competition thing thanks for doing it I really hated it a lot

EDIT: Gargate, Vindonen, and Cece are the rangers listed as bards

this calls the accuracy of cyzaines buddy into question - unless divine stun was changed recently. because it was proven divine stun does not do aggro via ingame tests some time ago - you can divine stun a mob THIRTY times and one terror would pull it off.

also, the fact that devs are surprised by monk aggro makes me a little disappointed at how misinformed the dev team is

I feel like somebody is missing who casted a thing or two. I dont know it might have been important or something.

its not so much suprised about the agro but suprised about the method to get said agro.

i did not use dps combo

the more i think about it the more i think cyzaines buddy is broken. i could prove (or disprove) this easily if it were still up, but i missed the event, so alas

ok, after some testing, i can pretty confidently prove cyzaines buddy does not work properly.

root a mob, divine stun it thirty times, then let root break, it runs for the paladin. hit it once w/ pally. terror it once or twiceon an SK, and it runs for the SK. by the numbers posted that should be 30,000 aggro vs 4.7k. similar results if you tank the mob with the pally with back turned, but not drastically

however, divine stun does indeed stun now (as it has for awhile) which still makes it a worthwhile spell to use

also, if we just look at the numbers on the parser, we can all agree one terror of kaezul is BASE 2175 threat (675 initial + 3 ticks of 500). 10% from aggression + 10% from subtlety AA + 5% from ember tome + 15% from voice = 140% (3045) if aggro gains are additive (if they aren't, it doesnt help validate the accuracy at all anyways). but one terror on cyzaines buddy yielded ~2400 threat.

anecdotal evidence also supports the inaccuracy of the test. really, the only question is which is wrong: cyzaines buddy or the actualy aggro calcs

Divine stun generates aggro that scales with mob hp and Cyzaine's Buddy has hp that puts him in the highest bracket, so it's likely you'd get results that differ from in-game tests (unless you are fighting another level 65 monster with 2 million hp). Nevertheless, the amount of hate reported by Cyzaine's buddy is literally and exactly the number value of the hate the mob has for the tester. There are no 'moving parts' and nothing to 'break'.

Something seems wrong with the numbers for the terrors.

Doing rough napkin math on terror of kaezul:

Base threat (675 + 500 + 500 + 500) = 2175

Threat from aggression: +10%
Threat from spell casting subtlety: +10%
Threat from Voice of kaezul: 15%

Total threat bonus of additive: (.10+.10+.15) = 1.35
Total Threat bonus of multiplicative: (1.1*1.1*1.15) = 1.3915

Expected threat value Additive: 2963
Expected threat value multiplicative: 3026
Achieved Threat Value: 2483

The only way I can get near 2483 is if I assumed that spell casting subtlety generates negative threat for terrors.

Additive: 1 + (.1+.15-.1)= 1.15
Multiplicative: 1 + (.1 * .15 * .9) = 1.1385

Additive: 2501.25
Multiplicative: 2476.2375

So either cyzaine's buddy is spitting out the wrong number, or subtlety is broken for Terrors.

Also for assault of shadows, after talking to eisley, and parsing it, it seems pretty useless. It functions like old style terrors (one burst of threat) with a 6 tick recourse to prevent you from spamming it, netting you a whopping 350 * threat multiplier threat. I think it could use a change to be more like new style terrors. Reduce the base amount of hate, but make it tick for 6 ticks. Maybe 6 ticks of 250 base threat? Because right now its not particularly useful.

i thought we agreed about 5 years ago that aggro scaling being based on mob hp was a poor choice?

either way, that explains the discrepancy, thanks

Based on having generated a lot of aggro in my day, I think these numbers are all fucked up.

There is more to a mob switching targets than the number of hate. You all know this already because you have the words 'low hp aggro' and 'root aggro' and 'proximity aggro' and 'spellcasting aggro' in your vocabularies!

Also subtlety for SKs is exactly what it says it does. Your calculations only take into account what should happen from the player's viewpoint, but mobs also get input on how much they hate someone for any given action (for instance, stupid mobs are slower to care about things and Cyzaine's Buddy is pretty dumb)!

My final score was with help (less help but still help).

I think my best without any help was around 134k, and with just bard and tash around 152k.
