I heard once that if you can get to the Gods of WR, you can kill them. Then, all of their followers will despawn and the God will never re-pop. However, He/She will drop the most incredible gear imaginable in the process...

Does this bear truth? If you get to T5 in ToT can you find Tarhyl? How about the other gods? Just wanted some info incase the idea ever becomes approchable(im guessing that with fully AA'd and raid geared 65's ...even a whole swarm of them...this would be close to impossible and highly strategic).

TY TY

Unkillable Gods?!? That's just great! What are we supposed to do, sit around and kill giants, dragons, and demons all the time? Talk about a cakewalk!

Maybe once the gods BECOME killable, and are subsequently slain, minor bosses could take their place, equal to the difficulty of the demi-gods required to defeat to reach them?

How about when you kill a god, your character takes over the role of that god and becomes an NPC. Then you don't get to play your character anymore, but, hey - you'll be a god and people will die lots trying to kill you :)

Which one of the roughly 40 people doing the killing will that be?

The wizard obviously

the one that gets the message
'you have slain <god's name here>'

so whoever got the final hit in.

maybe only followers of 1 god can kill another, and they all become like prophets or something.

Well. From an RP perspective...

Ruin kills Sivyana, Alazif (leader of Ruin) takes her place. Ruin is his minions. Ruin's officers are his demi-gods.

Atleast that's the way I pictured it, for the RPG I run in my mental utopia.

I'd like to atleast get a few trial attempts on a god or 2 just to see what we're dealing with. Probably Sivyana since Ruin can kill everything else in PoTorment and literally stroll right on up to her.

And speaking of gods, what's the plans for the upper area of PoAir? It's been barricaded off by that Death Touching Warder of Shiritri since the zone opened and the whole under area excepting Livia is completely one groupable.

Honestly, I just think that while killing Gods, monks get death touch. I have another theory, and that is that the sun revolves around the earth.

I really like this idea. If it was a raid type situation then, it would have to be the person that did that landed the final blow.

So if a pet did it, then an earth/necro/shaman/etc. pet would be the new god.

what is this maddness of which you speak? The sun revolves around us i tell you, when its dark, the sun is on the underside of the disk!

seriously, people are for the idea of losing control of your character to become a NPC? :brow: common sense has me siding with rabe.

i think it's a good idea that when you kill a god, eventually the god, like, repops, perhaps with a placeholder until that timer runs out. i know it's a new, crazy idea, but it might work.

for your diehard RP people out there, i guess you could say that the god mob is actually just a physical manifestation of the god's power, so when you keel it you never actually completely kill the god, and the placeholder would be a subordinate boss-like minion folk that holds together the forces while the god is away regaining his/her strength. and unfortunately with my idea the only benefit you recieve would be loot...yeah i know, god loot sucks hard.

Well if the god is just a physical manifestation of that god's power, once the physical manifestation is slain, then why would there even be loot? Doesn't really make sense. I would imagine that the equipment of a god's avatar is just an extension of itself and therefore would drop no gear when slain.
