Keyboard lockup while 2boxxing?

Anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this from happening?

I am running 2 accounts off eqw, at the point where I can alt+tab between them, after a while one of them will become unresponsive to the keyboard. I can still alt tab to it and use the mouse to move around but cannot use the keyboard to do anything, requires me to ctrl/alt/delete and end the program and reload it. Sometimes it doesn't happen for 10mins sometimes it happens right away.

I tried making a copy of my EQ folder and running both accounts off separate ones but that did nothing, that's the only suggestion I've got so I'd appreciate any input.

How often is this happening? Is it a constant issue or something that occurs occasionally?  If it's an occasional thing it may just be the fact that EQW is buggy.  I experience that every now and then as well.
 
Every session it happens, today after logging in for enough time to check my inventory and zone it happened. Very frustrating, I'd love to level up and play but the lockup proves to be my end everytime.
 
This happens to a bunch of people randomly from what I've seen. I can usually fix it by hitting some sort of crazy combination including Shift Ctrl Alt Enter Up and maybe spacebar, I''m not sure exactly how its getting fixed with that, but it seems to work for me after a little bit of work.
 
Ctrl, Shift and Alt, try them individually on each side. Should fix it. If it doesn't, you've got the same rare issue that I have (which I might have fixed). I have a few suggestions as to why it happens:
MSN Messenger (when someone writes you and you tab to their window with the notify window open)
Winamp
If the game is out of bounds on your screen (i.e. delete your eqw.ini and position it so no part of the game is out of bounds)
 
I tried the latest suggestions to no avail, still plagues me while trying to enjoy myself.

Anyone else have any input or possibly a fix has come along in my 30 day absensce?
 
Have you tried both deleting eqwin.ini and repositioning the window as well as playing without any instant messangers or audio programs running the in background? If so, you're simple SOL. EQW had some issues and there's not much we can do to fix them, so you'll have to run it without EQW.
 
I did delete the .ini and that changed the position of the windows slighty, but I have not tried altering them manually. If so where to, are you suggesting resizing to fit with the navigation bar showing at the bottom of windows?

Also I do not have any messenger type services ever running so that should be no issue. Nor do I have any other process running save the required windows tasks in an effort to reduce ram usage.

To the suggestion of playing outside of eqw, is it possible to 2box not using eqw? Really I don't care what minor inconvenience it causes so long as this lockup can be avoided. I find it to happen at the most inappropriate times(pulling/multiple adds/etc) and the time it takes to close out and log back in would be outweighed by any alternative even if it's not as fluid as alt-tabbing.

By chance could you elaborate on how please?

I've tried alt_tabbing and using windows key to get to desktop and re-open sodpatcher to load a 2nd fullscreen eq to no luck, get a .dll error but the one will work fine. How can I open a 2nd window that I assume I can alt-tab or ctrl-alt-s to switch between and 2box.
 
I had this problem for the first time a few days ago. I strongly felt all problems stemmed from the right-shift but was proven wrong in this case.

I fixed it by using the "toggle 2 windows" hotkey (check your eqwin.ini in eqw folder) which is default ctl alt r if i remember correctly.

default is ctrl alt s. Ctrl alt r is to release mouse cursor. If you want to 2-box without EQWindows, you simply run SoDpatcher twice :eek: Alt + Enter should release EQ from fullscreeen mode.

I would like to extend thanks for all the patient help in resolving this issue. I was able to play for hours on end with no interruption in using full mode, so easy now to alt tab back and forth with no worry of freezing.
