Items with Lightsource

If the main quest augment were to have a lightscource property it'd have to change as the quest progresses. As in begaining it has no light giving properties and then after the seconed or third upgrade it turns to a lightscource, then by the time you finish the fifth part of the quest you get an upgrade to a greater lightscource for the augment.

As to darkscources. I LIKE the idea. An item that reduces the field of vision or in another way reduces howfar out you could see. Would be great for balancing out mid level gear properties and ESPECIALLY give those fancypanced elves a taist of what humans go through.

No official word on this?

It would be really good to have someone go through all the raid gear and evaluate the light emitting properties of items, or at least add it to all the expensive charms :-/

Another thing i've just tested:

The server isn't sending out any information about other peoples lightsources either, this has been a large graphical feature of "eq" since pre-kunark and would actually help make the world look a lot cooler if it was fixed.

http://ruin.pw3n.net/eqlights.avi has me equipping and unequipping my dragonkind robe, the difference is big but other players are unable to see my lightsource here and they should be able to, aswell as more items adjusted as mentioned in this thread, i'd even volunteer to go thru them all myself :p

this would look cool, but it would be even more packets for the server to send when things like bard songs and animations already choke weaker connections. why spend time on something that trivial?

I don't think giving the lightsorce info for each player would "choke" anyone at all, and I don't think its trivial after some experimentation I believe it would be a huge visual upgrade for Shards of Dalaya to actually use dynamic lighting like live
