Interested in assisting Dev team.

Ilmaen

Dalayan Beginner
Greetings SoD players, SoD GM's and SoD Devs alike. I'm Ilmaen (Ingame SoD character is Kuran) and I've been palying SoD for around 3 hours now. In this three hours, I've seen a lot of extra game mechanics, Lore, and general cool stuff that should have been the original EQ1 from day one. Having played EQ1 for around 7 years, it's incredibly awesome to be playing here, and now I'm hooked. So hooked, that i've already offered to write an entire journal series as ingame books for Waldoff if he accepts, but I would absolutley LOVE to assist the Development team in any way I can, In particular writing for quests, specifically for paladins.
And so, I would like to offer the development my writing abilities, and hope that you will accept me, and allow me to help mould the experience into something far more awesome than EQ1 ever was, with immersive, expansive, and generally awesome quest lines.

Thanks for reading.
I'd be happy to grant you any more information you'd like over PM's.
;)

Edit: Oh.. Uhm. i'd like to apologise if I've acidentally broken rules on contacting Dev teams by posting like this. Wasn't intended.

I talked to Ilamen in SoD chat about this, but for anybody else who might be interested in the same or is curious as to how we go about this, I gave three recommendations:

1) Play a lot! SoD Experience, including knowledge of the world, mobs, lore, zones, etc. is a must for people seeking to help in Quest Design and Developer positions. (More about lore can be found also in the Roleplaying subforum here)

2) Write! Practice makes perfect and that's no different for writing lore and quests and the like. Players currently have a great opportunity to hone their writing skills by writing books for woldaff. Anything from Journals to Research Tomes to a Compendium of Children's Rhymes to an Epic depiction of some nearly-forgotten war (all original and clearly relying on or at least fitting within SoD lore of course)

3) Pay attention! We don't recruit new developers or quest designers often, and when we do it will nearly always be announced in a sticky in this forum. If you're not on the forums often, you just might miss it.

Well, that's all I have for now. Glad to have you around, and good luck to you =)

Don't let Allie fool you. The real way to get inside staff's head is a combination of bribes, alcohol (as previously mentioned), brainwashing, foot massages, and the Force. The proper application of each of these is guaranteed to get you a staff position in under 2 weeks.
