How to customize in-game music...

I didn't know where else to put this, but thought it might be cool to some people...

There's an easy way to customize the in-game music. Just write over the .mp3 files in your SoD directory.
For example, let's say you don't like the music played from "freeport.mp3"... find another mp3 file you like, rename it "freeport.mp3" and put it in your SoD directory (overwriting the old mp3 file).

A good site I like to get free in-game music from is http://www.ocremix.org/. The website offers remixes of music in a lot of popular video games!

Or you could do what I do and use the in-game mp3 player(Alt k).

However, the one thing I DO recommend over-writing in this way is the combat music. Gogo old-school combat music(Kael arena music)

True that.

I'll never forget when Finster found all the old MIDIs.

Nothing better than the original Rivervale midi music.
That and the Aviak music are amazing. I still can hum the Rivervale song. :)

I always felt that Stravinsky's Firebird suite goes perfectly in PoA.

Regasin will agree that the music from Rainbow Ride in Mario 64 is the best option for PoA

i have been doing this for awhile but i cant seem to change the music that plays for the loading screen or char select screen. i renamed the file exactly as it was before but i got the classic EQ music instead (like first ever loading screen tune.)
any ideas on how to fix?

wait what? you have the ORIGINAL music playing and not the music you intended for it?

This is amazing news

Edit: this sounds super sarcastic, but i mean that the original music is far far better than the mp3 version they stuck in

Anyone get some quality music for this in a compilation anywhere. I'm really just tired of the old music and so I've totaly turned sound off, but if someone had some decent sounds for this I would get it going again just to check it out.

aye iaeolan, its the classic and i agree its better than the loud abnoxious version it normally is but i had something else in mind than original too lol.

Am I the only one who customizes my other games with EQ music?

PoTime & PoEarth FTW.

Also some of the new ones they made, like South Ro and Nektulos are fun atmospheric pieces. :toot:

I turned off game music, and use Foobar 2k as a non resources draining player.
My own choice > atmosphere songs that drive me nuts.

Yeah, just find combattheme1 & 2 and change them into whatever one you'd prefer. One thing about that, though, is that it typically won't play for longer than a minute, so songs with words are usually just annoying.

I'm still debating about putting Tubthumpin' in for for combat...or Da Da Da...both have words and meant to be repeated imho
