How does this combo sound?

I remember some people 2 boxing a shaman and a rogue on EQ live... and I really wanna play a rogue and shamans are ok... so think its doable?

I would say this depends a lot on how you want to play. If you want to group with other people, then this duo is great. You bring heals, buffs, great dps in melee and very nice dps in spells as well. All you will really need is a tank for most situations.

However, if you plan on duoing, I think you will have a hard time tanking decent mobs if you use the rogue. It isn't the conventional tank/healer, but that is very ordinary and not for everyone.

All in all, it depends on how you want to play. You will almost always have a spot in groups with those classes should you choose to group.

One caveat, however, is that I consider rogues to be a more focus-required class to play. As a rogue you need to stay behind mobs (means you might have to run in case of ping-pong), you'll also have to evade if you get aggro, and of course you will want to hit backstab as soon as it pops up (usually). This is good because the class gives you something to do, but it can be a deterrent for a two boxer.

Well considering groups are pretty much obsolete in the 20-30 level range I would suggest going with a better tank so you can duo and not be dependent on groups.

Shaman gets the pet at 34...

If you can survive through the 20's and 30's.... use root on the shaman and get his pet on top of the mob and have pet tank. Root aggro works so that closest player (or pet) attacking the rooted mob has aggro. So the shaman pet can tank while rogue backstabs.

Alternately, you can straight up send in the pet first to grab aggro and then send the rogue in afterwards. Just feel out what kind of aggro the rogue will build up before you start going ape shit and getting beat up. :)

It is possible.

You can always /ooc for a tank as well. If I were a tank I'd LOVE to be in that group. That's a solid foundation for sure.
