NOT DONATING *EVER*
APPLICATIONS CURRENTLY CLOSED
I need to hire a single item designer. An item designer's job is very simple: To create and implement items for certain mobs, quests, tradeskills, and whatever else we need items made for at the moment. The item designer will be working closely with me and Xeldan primarily. Most assignments will involve inventing and databasing the items dropped by new NPCs. This is a demanding position, but also one of the most important ones on the server.
This item designer needs to have a few important qualities:
1: Discretion. This is the most important quality. As item designer you will be privy to information on nearly all new content that comes out, and if it's found you're running your mouth about it to players or staff that should not know about it, you will be terminated and banned from the server along with anyone that you leaked to and who didn't report you.
2: Commitment. If you do not have a good portion of time (a couple hours a day) that you can set aside when something urgent comes up, don't bother applying. I will need to be able to throw you an assignment and have it back in a reasonably short timeframe, I can not wait a week for you to clear your scheudle.
3: Creativity. You need to be able to picture the items you're making, have some kind of vague reasoning for why this item is found on this mob, and be able to vary yourself in the items you make. No uniform generic items with +20hp/mana each need apply.
4: Learning ability and ability to take critique. It will take some time for you to understand item balance, and in the mean while most of what you make will be adjusted, or possibly scrapped outright. If you can't handle this as a natural part of learning, don't apply.
5: A non-toxic personality. Since you will generally be working very closely with me, I'd rather not hire someone who throws fits or goes on drama rampages.
6: Intent on staying, or at least honesty. I really don't want to spend several weeks training someone just to have them dissapear or stop making items out of the blue. If you during your training feel that you're not cut out for this, tell me so and I'll let you resign, no problem.
7: YOU MUST BE WILLING AND ABLE TO USE IRC. A LOT. This one is self explainatory.
Let me repeat once again that this position is not for someone who just wants to slack and help out now and then.. The actual amount of hours you spend working on items may not be very high, but you'll need to be available for when a new set of content is being added in.
If you feel that you fit the bill, please send an email to [email protected] with the following application filled out:

CHARACTER(s) on SoD with name(s) and level(s):
WHY YOU ARE FIT FOR THE POSITION (make it fairly brief, around 200 words at most):
SAMPLE ITEMS:
The sample items should be 4 items that you have designed for the following (non-real) NPC:
Ironjaw
Race: Shark
Level: 30
ADEPT (engage level 27)
Items should contain name, slots, type, weight and stats. For example:
Dagger (1hp, PRIM/SEC, 3/15, wt 2.5)
As a final note we are looking to fill this position as quickly as possible, due to some high-content projects that are coming up, so the sooner you can start, the better.
I look forward to hearing from you.
