High level Cleric HoTs.

Here is one thing that has been bothering me recently. Clerics high level HoT's that cost a LOAD of mana to cast. At lower levels the HoT line are very effecient (Celestial Remedy/Health/Healing) and they heal a large amount of hp over time for a lesser amount of mana.

Celestial Remedy 150
Celestial Health 205
Celestial Healing 225

But after these three the line of spells gets uneffecient.

Celestial Elixer 350
Elixer of Bliss 430

Now compare Elixer of Bliss to the Shaman spell Ancient: Slumber of the Beast.

Both spells heal the same amount of damage over time, but mana cost is very different.
L64 EoB 430 mana
L60 Ancient: Slumber of the Beast 150 mana

Now I am taking into consideration Ancient torpor has a negative component, slowed attack and mobility, and its a ancient spell (but lower overall level), but nearly any high level tank can keep aggro even with a torpor spell active. Warriors with a tinkerers hammer/Nightjaunt, paladin/SK with their spells. But I think the amount of mana required for the clerics spells are a little too high. Especially with the line being so good in the early game and degenerating into a spell I only break out to HoT a tank before pulling a raid mob.

I am not looking to get shaman spells nerfed at all.

I was given to understand that the main reason Elixirs remained costly and had an extra recast attached to it was to prevent it from being the be-all-end-all heal. Early on, it was quite possible and common to have elixir being the only heal spell used in a group, due to its efficiency.

With recent rebalances of all heals, the HoT issue could be revisited. Personally, when I played my cleric I threw elixirs all over the place, because I found that mixing them with complete heals generally left me with more mana than straight-out complete healing, or spamming Light. From a grouping point of view (and bearing in mind that I haven't played a lot since the last heal change-around), elixir probably isn't as attractive as it used to be. At all. Though, for raid purposes, the Celestial Regeneration AA is more than adequate from a HoT standing, even to the point where there were Celestial Regeneration chains being loosely set up.

As an addenum, I absolutely never use HoTs anymore.. (Especially after the prayer claws) for the following reasons :

1.) I like to CH tanks. I dont miss. 3000+ for 450 works for me (I dont have blissful light mind you)

2.) If anyone is dying, they get a ER.

3.) ER heals for less than CE, but it costs less mana and is practically instant.

4.) In groups with shamans, who have much higher mana regen, I only heal when things go bad. Which is fine. But in a group without a shaman and facing against mobs with a lot of HPs, I just lose mana constantly. Its pretty lame.

I dont really see what the problem with super efficient HoT is. Isnt that the point of them? You save with ER, bump with EL, big heal with CH, and heal everything else with HoT.

I haven't used anything but CH and BL for ages, personally, but then again I only heal a 7.5k+ HP tank.

Reviewed and approved. Celestial Elixir changed to 280 mana, Elixir of Bliss changed to 340 mana, Torpor/Slumber upped a little to 175 mana.
