This post is going to assess the options that raiding monks have for hand slots currently.
My first example, (which is what every raid monk uses, save one):
Snowsilk Handwraps
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM NO DROP
Slot: HANDS
AC: 17
Cold DMG: 2
STR: +11 STA: +5 AGI: +8 HP: +60 MANA: +50
SV FIRE: +15 SV COLD: +10
Weight: 0.0 Size: Small
Class: MNK BST
Race: ALL
At first glance, these gloves aren't bad at all.. and they come from a fairly easy mob.
Our second option:
Fleshbonded Fighting Claws
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM NO DROP
Slot: HANDS
AC: 5
Magic DMG: 3
STR: +15 DEX: +15 HP: +100
Critical Strike: +3%
Aggression: + 3
Weight: 0.0 Size: Small
Class: WAR RNG MNK BST
Race: ALL
These gloves have great hp and the crit strike is definitely nice, but the ac blows ass.
The AC / HP are basically identical between these two items being that 12ac translates to roughly 40hp, and the stats are similair..
Our third option, which really isn't an option at all:
Dragonbone Gloves
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM NO DROP
Slot: HANDS
AC: 20
STR: +5 STA: +5 HP: +100 MANA: +100
Weight: 4.5 Size: Small
Class: ALL
Race: ALL
Finally, a pair of gloves that has some nice AC AND HP, but alas they are 4.5 stones.
To give you an idea, that's 20% of our entire weight cap in one item, which pretty much makes them unattainable, being that we have 23 slots + bags, being that they aren't much of an upgrade from the other items.
Now to give you an idea of what other classes get as options,
Rengaw's Mighty Fist

Wow, nice gloves.. 22ac, insane melee stats, 100hp, FOUR % crit strike and nice MR... equippable by all melee's except monks! ( I realize the weight on this one is high, but if they were made monk usable, it would hopefully be looked at )

These are a tier up from most of the other mobs, but wow! great pair of gloves... equippable by all melee except for monks... ( this routine is getting old )

Yet another option for tanks and bards.. great ac, stats, and some damage reduction... bet again.. no monks
There are a great assortment of raid gloves out there attainable for melee's.. but monks don't have an option for a higher end pair of gloves where both the ac / stats / hp are better than the one's from a mob that can probably be 2 grouped ( frozens in se, where the first set i linked are from )
What I would suggest, is that the mani gloves ( chaotic ferocity ) are made monk usable ( and the weight is left unchanged ). It would provide an option for the monks past SE frozen mobs to upgrade their glove slot.
