High end bard string mods

While I think every other high end bard mod is extremely well put on items, string modifier for high end bards seems to be in terribly inconvenient places. I don't think im alone in thinking another item could use a high end string modifier, especially since our runic 2 was changed into a spell that requires this mod.

I would be completely fine swapping around items for any other song that might benefit from a string mod in situations that might warrant it, but with runic 2 being string I just think it makes sense to have another, or change it to percussion like the rest of our dots.

I know this has probably been said before, but I just thought I would make a post and see what happeneds.

Thanks

or change it to percussion like the rest of our dots.

Only the chant lines are percussion based.

As the person who designed this, I can say the song is an amalgamation of Denon's Agonizing discord and denon's bereavement, neither of which are percussion based.

But yes there is a need for high end stringed items.

Do you have item/items in mind for your suggestion? More likely to get feedback, as this is something I would alsolike to see happen.

I think potential good items to put a string mod on would be as follows:

Raid:
Dhuro, Conceal of the Assassin
Signet of Worship
Cycyl, Girdle of Perpetual Motion

6-man:
The Dark Shroud
Nightwhisper

Obviously it doesn't need to be on all of these items, but I think they are good high end candidates, and one achievable by 6-man and raid would follow suit to most other mods.

Wondering if this is being considered, it's been over a month without a response or change. I am sure all high end bards would really appreciate this to figure out for their builds post T11-12, I certainly would love to know.

Thanks in advance.

the last time this was brought up OG was still a new zone and there were indications that there was a high end string mod item available there. because of this i did not agree another item needed to receive string mod.

however since then, a lot of the mobs have been killed and, unless the drop is rare or players were unlucky, it does not appear that another string mod item drops in that zone. (the bard mob in town Eniva was not killed as far as i know, it had a complicated script and was still a bit buggy last time i tried it. could be there maybe??)

so given all that information i would agree maybe another item should have a string mod added to it. I'm not going to look through the wiki and put together a list of possible items, but of the items Gares listed, Dhuro seems like the best option. Many of the others listed are very powerful and have other very useful attributes., but Dhuro, since the bane damage was removed, could use a boost.

I would agree that Dhuro could use some loving and a string mod would definitely do that for the bard class anyway. While I know the other items listed are powerful, there are just not that many items to put mods on that don't already have mods, or are already really powerful items.

Even if Eniva were to have a string mod, I still think 1 more wouldn't break the bank...

I don't think Eniva is ever going to be finished, (which makes me sad, seeing her sword) but I definately agree Dhuro having string would be a very good idea.

Chances are if you don't think there's an item to fill that slot/role you need, then it's sitting on some lower thaz mob waiting to be looted.

If you mean something higher than Tier 10, then... okay, resume your discussion.

yes higher than t10. there are a couple available from t10 encounters, most notably ubax from essence of the mother. there is 1 other available at t10 that matches the mod on ubax, and it is not even a realistic option since its a not a very good item to begin with, though it is interesting/fun.

Clearly, we need to put one in Upper Thaz, then.

Probably a good idea... However it would be cool to consult with someone as bards are very difficult to gear (properly / optimize unlike other classes due to the amount of mods required) and if it were to just get thrown on some shitty slot, we will once again be in the same situation.

I still think Dhuro would be a good spot none the less, more than one option is always nice...

Make UT items like
Prolly some cool wrist with a good string mod and a procc with dmg. Another good slot would be shoulders.

Tao edit: /em notices Nwaij's head and places Nwaij's player hat on for him.

You are kidding, right? Ask your local mage, necro or enchanter how many focus effects they need one of these days.

There are 5 instrument mods, then Damage Increment, 1 or 2 elemental foci, and unless I'm mistaken, thats about it for focus effects for bards. Throwing in 2 more randoms of your choice, that leaves brds at 10 required foci.

For mages, it reads like Casting Speed, Damage Increment, Pet foci x2, Mana conservation, Range Increment, atleast 2 elemental foci (fire and magic), Bane Enchantment, arguably Healing Increment, Duration Increment (atleast for swaps when buffing) and Reagent Conservation if you are stretching it. 11 Foci.

For necros, the same as mages (minus Healing Inc), but they also need cold, poison, disease focus and Affliction Enchantment on top of that. 15 Foci.

Enchanters, Everything that necros need, plus Controll Enchantment. 16 Foci.

So please, don't complain over the many mods bards need, it really isn't bad compared to casters.

Melee classes also need haste, as many bane types as they can get, capped ATK (which can be interesting at t13 since lots of high tier items don't have any fero/valiance), weapon skill mods, dual wield mods, double attack mods, and probably a few I'm forgetting.

tl;dr- Itemization in this game is a fucking nightmare for every class.
