I've been able to do it once before so I know it works, but it seems every time I try to two box I get an error. I can get to the server select screen, but then the little devil box pops up and says eqgame.exe has encountered an error and needs to close, then it asks me if I want to send the info to microsoft. Anyone know what I need to do to fix this?
 
Do you mean Dual Client, ie 2 characters played on the same computer?

Are you trying to load both characters at once?

Are you using the same SoD Account (same login)?

Can you load a single instance (load the game once)?

One suggestion I would make is to create a second account (would put your characters on different logings but that is suppose to be more stable (DC-ing with same login creates problems such as crashing when trying to zone at the same time). And it was previously stated that it is not an issue to create a second account - but you still are under the 2 characters rule.
 
That seems to work, thank you for your help.

New question: Is it possable to get a toon moved to the new account or do I have to start over?
 
Maybe your computer runs out of ram. My five year old computer did that some times, when trying to DC, at which point I had to reboot it. If your computer is fantastic, try closing down some programs like Antivirus programs.
 
I would suggest the 2 login accounts.

And what are the basic specs for your system (CPU, MEM, VID)?
 
The two login accounts works, just wondering if I can transfer a character to the other account so I don't have to start over.
 
Usually if you log into IRC, a GM will be able to handle a character transfer quite quickly. At least from watching others ask for char transfers, =P
