Having issues while 2 boxing after server came back up

Hi, I'm having this problem when 2 boxing, after a few mins my pc just shuts down. I 2 box frequently and never had any kind of problems, it began today after server came back up. I'm using Win XP SP2, got a dual-core and never needed to set affinity on each client, tried it today and still won't work. Hope you can help me.

i would say give it a couple days to "break in"
let everything settle down a bit and see what happens.
lots of SoD starved people logging in to play, server could be a little congested.

i have a comp that restarts from time to time. it just over heats and auto shuts down.... could that be happening to you?
 
yeah, completely shut downs, never happened before. I dual box quite often for extended periods of time, its strange that the problem began today after sod came back.

having similar issues. my pc will lock up for 15sec or so at a time. happened after new patcher rolled out. i also tried setting affinity, caused my pc to crash entirely that time.

i havent ran into this problem yet. but my comp does periodically restart from time to time since im boxxing on a 1.2 with 512 ram. anyways you could also try updating your sp2 to sp3. my comp definatly seemed to run alot smoother after i got sp3.

As Luccian pointed out it sounds like it might be overheating. Not much else would cause a PC to spontaneously turn completely off.

Physically inspect the inside the PC real quick, make sure all the fans are spinning.

also if u get a little pop up saying Virtual memory is low before u shut it down. try upgrading your ram. sometimes that pops up on my comp and then it compelty freezes up and does shutdown on me.
 
have dual core amd 6600 (2.4 ghz) and 2gb of ram. never had an issue before new patcher/current server. only seem to have an issue when boxing. im already on sp3, and never needed to set affinity on each client before

If you don't need to set affinity, uncheck the "Bind Affinity" checkbox and it won't do anything special. Should work exactly like the old patcher.
 
i think i figured my problem out. Heard some popping last night, and checked my GPUs today when trying to isolate this issue. 3 blown capacitors on 1 card, 1 on the other. Time to buy some Caps and find someone to solder em for me hehe
