Harmtouch timers

I understand changing it to not be three, However I do not get this change being done so late. Shadowknights just lost the majority of their ability to prevent their own death. I want to assume this was done because of how ridiculous that tome is with three harmtouches and not just to fix something because the text said so.

Change the cooldown on improved harmtouch to 5-10 minutes. Change leechtouch to anything or just remove it from existence. There is little reason to ever use it over improved harmtouch with leech stance.

I hated that this tome affected abilities on a 35 minute cooldown and I dislike it even more that it only effects one now. The other tome also remains a joke.
 
I don't see how being able to use 3 HTs in a row was anything but broken. I'd call it a long overdue fix.

Because two are resistable, all three are on a 35 minute timer and before the introduction of that tome they did very little damage. Fix or not the class had been this way for years and its been gutted of two of its survival staples. Shadowknights already had the least control over their own demise and now its even worse.

Something being broken for years is no reason to argue against it being fixed.

During my time playing various SK bots for raids/6mans I never really felt that they lacked in survival staples. Going into leech stance and hitting IHT would heal a good amount, not to mention doing dmg to the mob. With lifetaps / clickies you can mitigate a good amount of dmg on most fights.

I couldn't keep myself up as well as on my paladin, which is how it probably should be. You're not a paladin.

Its not the fact that it was broken for years but the fact that it was broken for years, known about by multiple devs and staff members and then changed in the middle of the night with no announcement as to why. It does not matter if it was broke, it was the way the class worked for the majority of this servers existence. They made a tome that made these abilities significantly disgusting and fixed in a seemingly knee jerk reaction.

Lifetaps are cool when mobs can average 50% of your health a round and if you pray and get a crit you maybe get 11% of your health back.

Your also completely ignoring the fact that leech touch has no reason to exist anymore.

Having FD is pretty great control over your own demise.

My post is not arguing for the return of triple harmtouch, its arguing for devs to explain decisions and to have an awful part of my class looked into. Being reliant on 40 minute cooldowns is not fun.

My thoughts exactly. Harmtouches have worked this way the whole 6 years I've been on the server. Leaving them the way they were for that long, the Devs have made it the norm. Now we had a ninja "fix" from what I gather is because the very top SKs could do some crazy damage. I still believe that is a problem on the very top end and it wasn't for the other 99% of SKs, so it should of been fixed there. But if the Devs believe the HT timer was broken for at least 6 years and it's working as expected now, I can't object.

I just wish a dev would explain why after all this time they felt it needed to be fixed so I don't have to try to read their minds. Then at least we can start a new conversation on what changes, if any, are needed due to this significant deviation from the SK norm. Believe it or not, coming up as a lower tier SK, not all harm touches were mashed 3 in a row to cause damage because they didn't really do an awful lot of damage. I used it a lot more when I had multiple mobs in a group and had to try to control them. Only having one over 40+ minutes (depending on where you are on aa's) does affect things.
 
Cam I thought you knew by now, if you aren't tier13+, your gameplay, or even your opinion, doesn't matter. Sad state of dalaya it seems. Here's hoping a dev posts here and proves me wrong though guys.

Hey Rans. Personally I don't think the Devs cater to the top tier folks. The druid healing changes have helped people of all tiers and as did the SK terror changes. I do think the top tier folk are a lot more vocal than the rest of the server population though, but that's to be expected since they have put in a lot to get to where they are. So we see quite a lot of opinions on how the high end game works and I'm trying to show how my game in the T8-10 range is affected. It would be nice to see some more opinions on the matter from newer SKs, but it is intimating sometimes. With open forums and as a new player you pretty much expect to be thumped on the head and told you don't know what you're talking about.

While there are a few things Devs have done I just don't agree with (the spell resist change, this SK harmtouch change, and removing Thaz without putting fixes for quests like the Vah sword), I think they are fair across the board. I just wish they would communicate a bit more. The last real patch message was over 1.5 months ago...
 
Try having 3 GREAT class tomes to do. All the tokens, all that xp, all that farming, all that crossing your fingers hoping the right tome 3/4 drops. WRU Tome of the Succubus....

Some people quit playing because they have no tomes to do at all.
