Guild War Command

Dalayan Elder
Instead of posting mini suggestions within other S&R threads. I felt this needed it's own.

This is a proposed outline for a guild war feature to be implemented in shards of dalaya. The main goal of this is to provide an outlet for mass player versus player combat with as little coding as possible, while not opening up new avenues of character progression to unbalance the PvE game. By no means should any substantial game reward be obtained from this function. This format is essentially a "Gentleman's Duel" of small limitation and easy abortion.

Initiating a War
To initiate a guild war would be similar to dueling a single person. A command is used by an officer of one guild to attempt to start the war by either targeting a member/officer of the guild or inputing the guild name in the command, whichever is easier to code. A guild message is broadcast in the guild channel of the opposing guild (optimally) or a confirmation message is given to the targeted officer. The opposing officer uses a command to accept or decline this war invitation and the choice is output in the guild channels of both guilds (optimally).

The War
PvP between two warring guilds will be similar being red-tagged or in an arena. XP debt comes from any death in this war. Coin loot from kills. A guild will not be restricted to being at war with a single foe, but can add multiple guilds to the war list via the same means of initiating a guildwar. PvP needs some balancing, but we can make do w/o and still have some fun.

Ending the War - Addressing Grief
The war between two guilds can be ended at any time by an officer from either guild initiating an abort war command and specifying which guild to remove from the war list. This can be done at *ANY TIME* to end PvP in preparation for a PvE raid, undesirable actions of opponent, or whatever. Any unsavory actions should be dealt with by the respective guilds instead of the staff. It is up to the guilds to establish any sort of honor system involved with this function.

Any questions? Is this possible with the client?

I love this idea, however, it should only be started by leaders or rank 1 officers. Reason being, a noob might start a war and not know what he has done persay. Also 1v1 because adding a 3 group to the war would off set it badly..

eg.

<Guild A> goes to war with <Guild B>, now <Guild C> also would like to goto war with <Guild B>.

This would cause a massive unbalance. If it could remain a 1 on 1 fight between guilds i think it would be awesome. Another issue might be <guild a> attacking <guild b> because they want to kill prison and <guild b> is currently there. There would have to be some restrictions as far as that kinda thing went.

Other than that i endorse this product and or service.

Why would you make a "noob" an officer? :psyduck:

Also, why would 1v1 guild be any different than 2v1 guild? There is no mention of members of these guilds and tbh it's a gentleman's agreement between the guilds. If Guild B doesn't want to go to war with two other guilds they can null the war between them, likewise any guild that is raiding and doesn't want to be attacked.

Did you read the OP?

This is basically just an open ended duel between every member of competing guilds. It gives great opportunity for spontaneous PvP during non-raiding times which is arguably the most fun aspect of pvp.
