Guestlock Suggestion

I have no clue if this is possible because it seems more client based than anything but thought it was worth asking can we get a /cm autoguestunlock <PW HERE> command that auto guestunlocks the character when logged in from the same pc? similar to the / autojoin channel:pW command?

I fail to see how any of these comments have contributed anything to the discussion. It was already said make a hot key while that's a nice work around it doesnt change the fact that this command would be nice if it is possible to implement im uncertain would be nice to hear if it is. If its not then ok thats fine if it is then it would be great to have it added as im sure im not the only one that would get use out of it.

/autojoin is a built-in client command for joining chat channels. There's no way for us to make your client automatically execute a guestunlock command.

Along the lines of making guestlock a little more user friendly...

Not sure if it's a lot of work but in ideal world you could have 2 passwords to login with.
1) Your main login password which already exists.
2) Your guestlock password.

Just keep your guestlock password to yourself (which people already do) and then you can log on directly to your toon with the guestlock pw without having to remember to guestunlock every time.

I don't uderstand why this is such a big deal, just type it in as soon as you log in or maybe before you try and destroy something. I mean, you get a giant block of yellow text about it every session.

THAT would be cool. And Dracos, you are right, it is easy. Current process: Login, type /cm guestlock off *password*, camp, wait for character to show up and hit enter. Bam! In!

To alleviate that: 2 log in passwords like Pecannius said. Plain and simple....

Short answer: It's not a big deal.

The more big picture answer is that right now SoD is quite scary for new players. For more veteran players, doing the /cm guestunlock is just second nature after doing it for so long. But ofr newer players, with all the bugs that you have to learn/memorize (ex: raid tool messing up, self spells interrupted if target goes away etc), all the text commands you have to learn/memorize (/cm guestlock, /cm bandcreate, /cm specialize etc), it would be a step in the right direction to make the UI more intuitive and user friendly whenever possible. My suggestion was a step in that direction if the fix was easy. If it's not easy to do then it's not worth it.

by the time you have something ur afraid would be stolen from u in game and are handing out ur info to people other then ur most close friends, i dont think ur a beginner anymore.... so making a tool thats function is for the most part designed for people familiar with the game easier for people just starting really something that should be prioritized over fixing some of the bugs u mentioned, especially since there is nothing wrong with the system as is.

literally the worst thing that can happen is you LD deleting something on thaz stairs and fall to your death or you go LD in an exp group and people make fun of you. I've guest lock LD'd myself all the time and never found it a problem. Also even if someone does steal something from an unguestlocked character they can get banned anyways so the best solution is to not give your info to people who might steal from you and then just guestlock when you retire or move your platinum/stealable valuables onto a banker alt.
