Hey, folks, I'm running SoD on my wife's Vista machine (Athlon processor). I know how to set affinity to I can actually play the game, but I've never gotten good graphics on it. The video card is an Nvidia GeForce 6100 built-in, I've updated the driver, and fiddled with the graphics settings in both places (in-game options, and that screen before you get in the game).
Two things - I get no spell effects, although my characters go through the motions. I've turned particle effects to High, with no effect. Since I'm using this to dual-box a Druid, it'd be nice to get the visual cue that a spell is going off.
Second thing is that textures are off sometimes. Boats with fantastic tapestry patterns instead of the wood they're supposed to have. Skeletons with huge dark heads, stuff like that. I'll see if I can get a screenshot for Wiz, since I know he likes those ... I've played with texture settings, too, caching, etc.
Any ideas? I'm sure this is either a simple thing, or just not possible because of the video card. I saw some references to an Nvidia (8100?) card that just doesn't work with SoD. Thanks, folks.
