Good Place for a new player to start?

I used to play back when the game was Winters Roar. I was wondering if there are any new areas to start off at now?

Was hoping to start in an expansion zone that had better graphics =P. Or at least a different place then the usual Oggok/Grobb/Newport/Everfrost jazz.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, although I realize I will eventually revisit some old dungeons (like halls of m. ect).

Ohh! I remember. The new low level area was the cat area. But now I remember that Wiz hates them.

I'll just start preparing for an old school low level area. Is the iksar starting area still around?

All the Kunark zones are reserved for the upcoming expansion. Starting zones are Newport/Surefall Glade, Halas, Underhill, Oggok, Grobb, Athica and Kelethin. (ETA: Oh, and Sadri Malath for the froggies.)

A lot of work has been done to Steamfont recently, making it a VERY viable alternative for newbie players. I'd go there just for the novelty!
