Found Fix: Disable hyperthreading in BIOS

I just recently replaced my sysbd and reimaged my system. Before this all of my hardware was the same and I ran SoD w/o any problems. At the character select screen my character model glitches around, rotates, seems to fly off the screen and it's also hard to click buttons with my mouse. (buttons aren't moving around but have to click several times) In game I see the same problems with the addition of my character warping (or running ar warp speed). When I try to turn left or right it's super fast.

Specs:
3.4 P4 extreme
Nvidia 8800 GTS
Windows XP

Things I've tried:
- Went through the last 24 pages of this forum
- Searched the forums on this website for video problems
- Updated directx to 9.0c
- Updated video drives (then tried last 2 releases)
- Repatched
- Checked/unchecked EQW
- Tried 4 different resolutions
- Tried a ps2 mouse (seemed to glitch more when I moved the mouse)

I probably forgot a few other things that I tried as I spent about 6 hrs on this last night. Can anyone think of what else I can try? It kinda boggles me that the only thing different is my sysbd and hdd and it's causing these problems. Is it a sysbd setting?

Re: Glitchy Video (not dual CPU)

I think there's an issue with 8800's and this version of EQ. A bunch of other 8800 users have reported similar problems.

Re: Glitchy Video (not dual CPU)

Tried a couple other things:

1) Installed EQ Live - no problems, runs fine
2) Installed my older video card - Nvidia Quadro FX (same problem as 8800)

Re: Glitchy Video (not dual CPU)

Forgot to add the only difference between this setup and my original setup that worked is a new hdd (160g WD sata instead of 160g Seagate sata) and a new sysbd (now using Gigabyte 965P-DS3)

Almost makes me think it has something to do with the sysbd now...

This is the only post I have found where someone has a solution. I have the same issue. Intel Dual core processors, and 8800 GT card. Same combat graphics glitch. Game is almost unplayable with that Glitch.

Question is, How do I disable hyperthreading? I can't find any option in the graphics card settings? I've gone into my computer BIOS as well (hitting delete on startup), but I see no options for disabling hyperthreading either. To be honest, i'm not even sure what hyperthreading is...

Anyway, can someone explain how I disable hyperthreading iin non geek speak?

I have an Asus p5K motherboard and a GT8800 graphics card. Intel based motherboard.

Please help! thanks

EDIT - Nevermind, I see this is a single core fix only. However if anyone come across another fix let me know. Thanks
