Give me your opinion.

Agreed on the shaman thing. You get a top geared shammy with Canni V and his relics and ancients, and sure, you can solo with the best of them. In terms of leveling solo, though, shaman is only mediocre.

Bard is a little slow at early levels, but from the mid levels on, they're the kings of soloing. Necro is great at all levels, and druid and wizard are good at all levels.

All in all, I'd go with Bard and Necro at the top, followed by druid, then wizard, and finally mage and bst.

I would argue that wizards are kind of a pain until they get snare at 29. Before this you just have to tank the mobs or keep rerooting.

Luckily, wizards make excellent tanks!

(Fair point, I haven't soloed with a wizard until somewhat later levels).

I would highly recommend 2boxing as opposed to straight soloing with one character. You will be able to accomplish so much more.

One of my first combos was dru/wiz and it worked quite well, especially for folks new to 2boxing.

The ports own, there is nowhere in Dalaya you can not get to fast. That alone shaves alot of time off of quests, including MQ. Track as well will make many quests a breeze to complete.

Snares/roots are plentiful so you wont have to worry about what toon you are on if a mob decides to eat your face.

As mentioned earlier about wizard, you will be hampered in indoor zones, same holds for druid. But there are plenty of places you can hunt and at no level range was I forced indoors for good xp.

Pull with dru(track/sow) and apply snare and as many dots as you can stack....run past wizard.....root mob if able...nuke to bits on wizard.

If a mob can not be rooted its not a biggies, druid snare lasts damn near forever so just relocate toons as necessary so they dont go splat.

Once you have the basics down you can try up to 3 mobs in a pull....that can be hairy though if one comes separated from the herd so be prepared for dying.

Good Luck!

DCing is more versatile, yes, but it's also the single most inefficient way of getting exp. I've done it for all the main characters I've played, and it works fine, you just have to group if you want exp. I've found it to be far more efficient to either solo with a soloing class, or get in a real group.

AFAIK there is zero penalty to duoing/dual-boxing, as opposed to soloing. Obv a group would be faster xp, but in MANY level ranges and MANY timezones a solo player will be shit outta luck...the time spent LFG could be spent gaining xp w/ your duo.

Boxing only becomes inefficient when you are not killing mobs twice as fast as you would solo (more or less)....which is prolly more indicative of poor boxing choices/utilization then it is of any deficiency in the xp system.

Anyway...if the OP decides to box or not....good luck in Dalaya.

EDIT- somebody pointed out the date of the OP to me........this thread was bumped cause why?

With the possible exception of a kiting/DPS box combo (like the druid/wiz you mentioned), almost no setup will be twice as efficient as a good solo class. The really versatile 2-box combos (monk/shm, pal/dru, etc.) are incredibly effective, but there's no way they can kill twice as fast as, for instance, a necro or a bard.

Besides which, there's the uber solo exp bonus on light blues, which almost every class can tear to pieces for highly efficient exp.

Don't get me wrong, I love 2-boxing. But duoing is generally the least efficient way of leveling.
