i do realize that this item was overpowered, and needed a Nerf. Current stats are:

AC5
FT1
STR6
AGI6
DEX8
WIS8
INT8
HP40

My only problem is, to me this is definitely a caster item. Any chance of getting some mana added to it. Even if it means taking away the HPs that are currently on it. I'd hate to have to sell this item because i spent a load on before it got nerfed, if mana was added to it at least it would still be decent for a caster, but in it's current form, to me, it's not as good as the black sapphire neck i was wearing.

I personally hated to see the mana go on it also, I didn't mind the focus tho since I believe that made it to powerful for the difficulty of getting it. I also would understand if the hps were removed if the mana was put back on also.

PS Sorry if this isn't a very well thought out post, I'm tired, so I apologize in advance.
 
I dont care about the loss of mana, what makes me mad is, i spent 2.5k on it because it had the magic focus mod, and could have cared less if the stats were subpar because of it, but now i just have a really expensive ft1 neck thats slightly better (if that at my level) than the jewelcrafted black sapphire necklace =/

FT is not that great pre raid game, because of the meditate code. when most of the things you are doing is just standard grouping, the whole 10 seconds you waste med'ing for mana without FT on just doesn't see worth it for this item by nerfing it 50 mana or the focus.

personally, i would like to see the focus reattached to it, even if it's just a 1% mod, cut FT1, slash HP down to 20, and add in 25 or 30 mana.
 
I don't really agree with adding a typically raid-only focus style to single group content if it's just one resist type, especially when it's not even level 65 content(the zone is designed for 60's at the top end of the spectrum).

coudln't have cared less.... not could.. if can then you care and well, thats argueing against yourself.

the item was far to good for the mob it dropped off.. your able to invis straight to him, and he can be soloed by a 65 ranger or paladin pretty easy imo. and duoed by most simple combos... sorry you spent so much but these things happen=/ id really like to see the mana reattatched though.. without that.. its really a unimpressive neck. tacking on mana would help it rival the najad neck a bit better, which may be only int but id assume this neck could be a upgrade to that neck...

found on main page, and reguardless or not if the zone was designed for 60's, if the mob is blue to a 65, then it is a 65 xp zone, therefore you should expect 65's to tear it up. i just fail to see how this item slipped through planning and implimentation, i mean surely someone must have seen the item before it was put in and thought it would be a bit too much compared to all the other items that drop from the zone.

i also don't see how a 1% stackable damage mod hurts the 50+ game? 1% of 1k damage is only adding 10 points of damage, and if you crit for say 8k, that would only add in a total of 80 damage. i do not see why casters cannot get some love through this area of the game, with an item that will quickly be replaced in the raid game by better stat items.
 
The choker was initially a lower tier raid quality item, and it was too good for the mob that dropped it, at least since that mob was a common spawn. If he were on a 1+ day timer and not quite so farmable, that would be different.

I do think that the choker is pretty crappy now, though. If has too little AC to be worthwhile for a hybrid, and the utter lack of mana makes it crappy for a caster. I would agree with some of the above posters - it should get some mana back. Not a huge amount, but if it were changed to 30 hp/mana, I don't think it would be unbalancing.

And bear in mind that I say that after Balthor got his juggo, when neither of us is likely to do much more farming of CC =P
 
Was fun to see Tryfaen running around Crystal Caverns with hide and killing the nameds only with 2 other groups threre just able to kill trash in the first days of the zone too
