game really dark while playing

for some reason when i go through dark tunnels through butcherblock or when it is night time i cannot see anything. My gamma setting does not change the darkness and i am not playing a human charecter so i should be able to see. Can anyone tell me how to fix this i am using the eqw check on the patch window also. when it is dark i cannot really play couse ill end up geting stuck somewhere. lol didnt have this problem befor
 
It can be very dark even for my wood elf who has infravision at times, just turn up the gamma in the in-game options.
 
will turn on lighting affects dont know if it is on and my gamma is at 100 but if i put it any lower it is exactly the same for some reason.
also i mean blackburrow not butcherblock
 
I've had similar issues when using eqw, but nothing on a long term or as dire basis. I've actually had my desktop stay darker than normal briefly after logging out. As such, I always assumed it was more of a settings/video card issue than an actual game problem (adjusting gamma did nothing for me in eqw either back when I was looking into the issue). It wasn't bad enough to really give me any problems though, so I just swept it under the rug.
 
Are your video card drivers the latest ones? Or at least not more than a couple years old?

What are your PC's specs?
 
You are probably boxing without eqw? Using alt ENTER or whatever it is to minimize one client will get both of them dark as hell unless you maximize the one you are currently at, this in turn makes boxing hard as hell.

This happened to me when I started boxing few years back on Nvidia Cards. I switched to Eqw and lived happy ever since.
