Fomelo Update

Eldorath

Dalayan Beginner
EDIT: added recovery effects as well, I probably have a lot of gaps so let me know what I am missing in IRC or via a reply

I've been working on updating fomelo. I'm still not decided on how to approach a few issues so I'll post them here, feel free to give me some feedback. Please hold off on requests for features/fixes right now, I've got a long list and I'm planning on hitting as many as I can. Once I have everything on my list done we'll push them live. If you're really concerned about one thing you can PM me on IRC, but I have all of the obvious ones and things that were mentioned in the last thread.

So just two questions for now, I might add some more later.

For stats, for characters with hidden strength we can raise the cap by an additional 180 to display the real cap. However the benefits of going over 305 are much smaller for the most case. So the question here is would you want to have it say 305* and then if you mouseover the number it will show the actual stat? Or just have it only * out at 485?

For weight, I can very easily display the weight of all equipped inventory. I could also get total weight including items in the carried inventory. This is mostly a monk feature, although I kinda like it just showing the equipped inventory because then you can look at your weight in game and figure out how much weight your bags are taking up, whereas a total would be just reflecting the number you already get in game.

And finally, in order to do worn attack, FT and recovery correctly I need to know every worn effect that changes them. Here is my current list, let me know if I missed some.

I would definitely go for the mouseover thing on the max stats.

Chillville Top5 thread is getting quite ridiculous already, when it gets to the point of ordering players based on stats over cap (which as we all know don't do a huge amount), that will be a very grave day indeed.
Though I'd still like to see them, so it saves me some maths to check if I can click off cha buffs etc :p

The 305* is also less confusing for the newer players that don't understand the hidden caps.

Pretty much sums up what I think.

About the weight issue: I think your first idea is pretty neat, adding worn weight to Fomelo would help monks a lot and I for myself would find it interesting overall. Thumbs up for those ideas :)

Weight seems neat if it is easy to do. If it is a lengthy thing, then I wouldn't worry about it too much (since it only really concerns one class). I think the mouseover idea is the best route concerning overcap stats. Worn attack and recovery would be amazing, and looking at your list, I did not see anything missing. Should be easier since they changed most attack effects to valiance/ferocity.

P.S. Eldo, you rock!

I'm not sure if you added it or not but every 1 valiance adds 1 regen. Also ferocity and valiance can stack up past 10 continuing at +5 and +3 attack per level respectively.

EDIT: Also is the spells tab going to show simply relics and archaics or something?

Btw no regen is showing up at all on fomelo atm whether it be on an item or from valiance ect.

Fomelo is being worked on, and is therefore buggy at the moment. He was listing the worn effects and their spell IDs. Valiance is 3 attack per ranking and the value of valiance divided by two rounded up for the regen portion. Ferocity is 5 attack per rank, and yes, they all stack up to 150. I believe he would have all of them stack with each other.

I know the attacks per rank. tho i listed wrong thing for regen. Worn attack will be nice to show. a nice 150* would be neat to see on some fomelos.

Wow, amazing job on Fomelo Eldorath (and crew). What an awesome update!

Edit: I know you are still working on a few things, but did we ever decide if adding your specialization bonuses from deities was possible?

So I moved our test Fomelo over to the public directory so you can see all the changes live now. We are still gathering idea's and weeding out the ones that we dont want displayed/aren't possible.

I'll also take this moment to welcome Eldorath and Aomi to the Web Developer team.

As previously stated, great work by the whole team! Grats to Eldo and Aomi both and thanks to them for stepping up to help a good cause!

The only things I really see missing are Tome exp. and deity specialization bonuses. Other than that, it looks amazing.

Edit: Bard MQ aug sucks, nm.

Awesome work so far, I can see my 18 ft at last! This all looks great really; good luck as you continue to tweak :)

oh 1 thing: I see the * on "Worn Atk: 150*" but will you also add for "FT: 20*" & "Recovery: 40*"?? In switching gear I notice that I can get my FT to 21 (presuming you know this already anyways but I won't neglect the obvious anymore - thanks Foonie..).

Oh um, this has been like it for ages & is probably posted elsewhere but is the reason that the "AA" mouseovers don't work on IE (version 7ish) because IE sucks or I need to fiddle settings or??
I have Firefox as well so it's not a huge issue, but for some reason I prefer IE (don't hate me).

Woot! Thank you - great job again!!

I think the reason I didn't like Firefox was the images load more slowly or more weirdly (like they show a random image-PH until the image loads) or something (may be down to the settings/add-ons I have though).

cool to hear that you guys are working on the mouseover issue, hopefully it fixes it in opera too! I really just wish all the browsers followed the standards so that everything would work cross browser.

just checked it out, the spells tab is great now, weight is pretty interesting to look at too. I don't have enough worn atk or regen for that to make a big difference tho :p
