Fomelo Bags

Would it be possible to have a buyable specific type of bag that display its contents on Fomelo? I know this would require a bit of an overhaul of Fomelo, and I don't know if anyone is still actively optimizing it. However, I think it would be a nice addition if someone wanted to put the time in to do it.

I think having inventory bags, or a certain type of bag, displayable on fomelo, sounds like a good idea.

I have no idea how feasible your idea is, though.

I think he wants to have a way to show bagged clickies/focus effects on fomelo.

More specifically i think he wants a special bag that allows its contents to be viewed.

I dont like the idea of people being able to see any of the stuff in my inventory, if this ever came to fruition id hope players had the ability to prevent viewing etc

Essentially, yea. Not even all bags per say, because I know people don't want to be broadcasting every facet of their characters on fomelo.

That's the idea behind having a certain type of bag that you could buy to do it. People would be able to decide whether or not they want that information out there.

Likely. And I agree, its a good idea to have this.

But how about making the contents of a bag in a specific slot being displayed instead of creating a special bag for that purpose?

Something about "buyable specific type of bag" made me think of santa bags and monks epeening over how much WR they could stack up.

It's an interesting idea, although I dunno how much I like the idea of everyone being able to look into my pockets :tinfoil:

I'm not for this. If for any other reason that it's particularly frivolous, and would involve what I'm reasonably sure is a large amount of coding, for not particularly any more reason that just a small amount of e-peen.

Fomelo will already be needing enough work with the tomes that are currently out in addition to the tomes of power, the 100 planned, and the new spells. Shout should probably be added during that whole thing as a listed spell as well as thaz mez.

For this reason, since the only fathomable purpose for requesting this is so you can bag your foci and have it count for top 5 lists, ensures that it will likely never have time devoted to it.

I appreciate the suggestion, but there are a few reasons why this won't happen.

For one, it would require a bit of work on the UI, which I don't have experience with. I could probably figure something out, but it would take a lot of time and it would probably make fomelo look crappy.

Also, this would require changes not only to fomelo, but to the game itself, which would have to be done by another developer, I only do fomelo, so this is getting to be a bit of a project.

Bags will never automatically be displayed on fomelo, simply for privacy concerns. So this would require some sort of in game quest or npc, or buyable bag. This is rather awkward from a lore standpoint. Oh, come buy your fomelo bags so you can use the internet and see them at work! (not trying to be excessively facetious, but it is an awkward thing you must admit)

Also, how would this work for monks, they have WR bags and probably couldn't handle some sort of special fomelo bag, we can't leave the monks out :p

So thats a start, but like I said, I appreciate suggestions. Probably the next changes to fomelo (eventually, I'm not actively working on them RIGHT now), will be recommended levels for items, and those new tomes.

I couldn't give a damn less about the top 5, so there goes your only fathomable purpose theory. :psyduck:

If it's a time and work issue, cool. If not, then it's simply an issue of 'but it's just an e-peen display'. Fomelo is already lots of that. I don't see a difference between displaying a Tiny Brittle Stone in a bag or having a spell on a list. Both are indicative of the character's traits as a whole.

Lots of stuff.

There's the answer, thanks Eldo.

Right, but fomelo as it is now displays a characters innate characteristics.
A bag would display whatever a person decided to show off, see the difference?

I have a hard time believing that these bags would be full of class utility items such as taesh ear or cmal gloves or what have you to show how this weighs on the characters ability, but instead be full of things to show how much better someone is than the rest such as exceptional no drop rotloot the person can't use or limited release items (i.e. frog jar, event items) and etc.

Or stupid shit that is neither impressive or useful that fills my bags. :/

It displays far more than innate characteristics. The potential for the bag is that it could display a number of things of the nature that fomelo counts but is not equipped and certain things that it doesn't currently display that count largely toward character power. If a bag or slot of that kind did exist, people could put whatever they wanted in it, true. But while it would be no detriment to allow people to be able to show any random shit, it would offer the benefit of being able to show things not currently shown.

Either way I guess it won't work in game, but a cool idea none-the-less. In my opinion there should be a way to show certain items that do pertain to the ability of your character, but aside the current suggestion I'm not sure how.

its kind of too bad. not that it should count for foci, but there are a lot of clickies out there which make huge differences. Right now, its assumed everyone has combine bp, a lot dont have legs. there are also nightmare arrows, ravenward, the bow w/ the +atk clicky for rogues, taesh ear, motf/ds clickies.....all of which would be cool to know.
