Flaming weapons as light sources

Hello everybody,

I searched and found one thread where this had been suggested, but that thread had no reply, so here I go again...

Could flaming weapons be made into light sources? I mean, my Claymore of the North, which looks like a... well, a sword, is a light source. My Razer, which looks like a big flaming torch, and the Soulfire, which is on fire, emit no light at all. It's just a bit silly... Sure, it's a minor adjustment, but hey. Would make sense, I guess.

This truly makes sense. Would it also be possible, the light for flaming weapons could be shaded to show like actual fire?

Firesong is a light source, even though it is now a spear (it used to be a burning torch). Makes a lot of sense for a weapon called fire song to be a big spear, especially since it is a blunt weapon. The flaming weapons emitting light would make sense, but I don't think they always design weapons to be "logical".

Are your light sources for other items working? I don't know if specifically any of the items you listed function as light sources but I do know there is an option for "dynamic lighting sources" that must be enabled for anything to work as one, even torches and lightstones don't work without it enabled.

Yes, my settings are fine for that.

I'm fairly positive that no new light source effects could be created (shadows or light), but there is an orange-light type of light-source (fire beetle eye/torch/lantern).

I've almost always had dynamic lights off, so I don't know if the staff has the ability to use both the white(light stones, etc) and the orange light-sources in SoD. I do know though, that the white light sources have an adjustable range and/or intensity. If that was applicable to the orange, it would be neat to have flaming weapons as light-sources.

SoulFire was a lightsource on live, make sure in your options menu that you have dynamic lighting turned on.

Soulfire 1hs or 2hs is NOT a light source in this game. As a human paladin it's dark as hell, but if I drop a greater lightstone into inventory it's bright as day. Dynamic lights work fine, but the flaming sword is not a light source. I asked for a change on this months ago and heard nothing.
