1. Would it be possible to make it so the weight on fish varies? So instead of those 1lbs salmon I might catch a 1.4 salmon then maybe a 3lbs Salmon etc. ?


2. What about a chance to snag a fish worth a few pp. (might already be possible not sure)

That would be cool. That way at least were not catching the same thing. Maybe make some price differances too depending on the weight.

Would be cool if we could do luers too eventualy
 
not to try to put this post to a premature grave, but I love the idea and personally the way I see it, higher skill in fishing gives you the 'chance' to catch higher weight fish with meat that is of more value? That seems fair enough to me and I personally have to /cheer for your idea, would make fishing worth it perhaps? :roll:

It would require an item for every different weight. A 1.4lb salmon would be one, a 3lb salmon would be another, etc.
 
so...

so... would that be easy to implement? sounds a bit tidious but possibly ( i know nothing) easy. If so I think it would really put some joy into fishing just simply adding weights would ROCK.... it would only get better if higher pound fish got more cash from merchants ... with the chance to catch some rare 10lbs or something for 50pp or something .. just something plz : )
 
Implementing one item with different weight would not be easy. Implementing several items with different weight wouldn't be that hard.
 
maybe you could have weights, say, use a heavier weight and have a better chance to get a heavier fish?.. the big fat fish swim at the bottom of the lake :roll:

the only thing I see wrong with that would be baking.. you can't just have like "a fish fillet" because you'd have like "a 1lb fish" and "a 2lb fish".. so you'd end up having "a 2lb fish fillet".. i'm sure you'll think of something.. a great idea anyway, perhaps a 2lb fish makes two fish fillets? ;)

Most likely not.

It'd be a lot of DB monkeying that we simply don't have the time for.

if there is any way to assist in said job i would glady attempt to do so but i'm sure I have not the current knowledge to do so, but if it was just a mundane task to do and easy to learn I'd certainly be willing to assist.

This idea was kind of used in Eqlive in the Firiona Vie zone you could fish and get different size fish. Not sure about selling price of the different sizes, but I'm sure they weren't used in any trade skills. I think the biggest I ever caught was like 8.2 pounds or something like that, with common smaller ones. (had max fishing skill) Not sure if this info will make it any easier to implement the idea, but just thought I'd mention it.
