i'm 32, I remember when the atari 2600 was cutting edge. An apple IIe was my recess in elementry school, and . . . . . . when is Matlock on? Nurse! put the channel on the Matlock channel. uh i think i wet myself.

I'm 41. I remember when a TIMEX/SINCLAIR with tape recorder (for storage) was cutting edge. And I was in high school at that time. During recess, we had...rocks and stuff. Maybe tanbark for upper class schools. And we didn't have TV's in school, or anywhere else in public. We stayed at home and rarely watched Dark Shadows or something or Apollo rockets going to the moon.

Sombody needs to start rattling off cartoons too...

Transformers, He-Man, Thunder Cats, Voltron, Smurfs, My Little Pony (my sisters fault), Duck Tales, Star Blazers (the reason I LOVE Anime), GI Joe, yadda yadaa yadaa...

I was a big fan of Starblazers! Anyone remember Force Five? It consisted of GaiKing, Spaceketeers, Grandizer, Dangard Ace, and Starvengers. I don't know about everywhere else, but in the New England area it was on right after Star Blazers. Good times. I think I still have the first two episodes of all five on VHS somewhere in my basement.

If my wife wouldn't kill me, I'd hunt for more. As far as anime now, I can take it or leave it.

Oh and let's throw out some old campy kids shows too. H.R. Puff-n-Stuff, Sigmond the Sea Monster, and the Banana Splits. Ah the memories.

Should this thread be moved to a non-WR topic section? Either way, I hope it keeps going.

If no one links them before I get home I'll put it up here.

The D&D Cartoon was awesome as well as the Silverhawks.

Dang I forgot all about silverhawks. OH Mask! I forgot all about mask. I had the Iroc, the semi, boulder hill, , the motorcycle, the 57 chevy, and my favorite, Jackhammer. I can't believe I forgot about those.

Ahh yes, some great ones listed here. Well, I stumbled on this site a while ago, you can download old school cartoon/sitcom intros and commercials too! For the truely nostalgic of the late 70's and early 80's.

So very sad. All of my toys were in storage and it was broken into. Lost everything...all of my He-Man, Star Wars (very large collection), Transformers, Voltron, GI Joe. I know Go-Bots sucked, but I had some still in original packaging. It all probably got ebayed ;( I was a little spoiled until about 10 due to 2 divorces and parents trying to make things up to me. Sad that it is so common now :(

Stop it, you are all making me want to actually visit E-Bay.

One I will add to the great list already - GoBots - loved the toys.

Course, now i pretty much all about watching anime - when I sneak it behind the wife's back (most TV sucks IMO these days).

I found myself watching transformers energon (gotta love Tivo) and enjoying it.

Go-bots was definitely a good pull btw :D

I gotta throw Bravestar out there for those that remember. :D

Roll out!
Yo Joe!
Lifter, On!
AND I'LL FORM THE HEAD!
Ranger, Cavalier, Thief, Acrobat, Magician, Uni
...No one should, terrify the neighborhood...
...from my radio, to my video...
...Robots in disguise...
...versus Cobra the enemy, fighting to save the day...
...M-M-M-MASK!

Thanks for killing 10 minutes at work!

all of my computers are named after Transformers.

My first real rig (that wasn't total shit) was named Galvatron. Background was:

and my start up sound was "Behold ... Galvatron!" (Unicron says this in the movie if you forgot)

My next comp was a laptop. Pretty beefy (bought a few years after the above comp, just as good as it) and portable. So what should I name this laptop of doom? Unicron, of course. No start up sound because I opened it in class a lot, but it would have been "I ... am Unicron!" I love Orson Welles.

I just upgraded entirely with a beast of a rig, so I chose the name Grimlock. Start up sound = "Me Grimlock kick butt!"

I love transformers so much.[/img]

I guess I'm the old man here (so far) - 46.

Rofl, the good old days, matlock, macguyver, air wolf, night rider.. yep, those were teh good old days. lol I never had an atari, I had an intertelivision.. (or was it Intellivision, cant remember)

HAH, I don't remember those shows. Oh, I heard of them, but I was too busy heading out to the bars and getting drunk to watch TV. I mean, come on, there were only 3 networks at the time (4 if you included PBS). Although my buddy Rusty did have this 'cable tv' thing, and it had 24 hour tv stations from Atlanta and New York! And one day, they MIGHT have a channel that plays nothing but movies!

I had a Pong - it was the coolest thing in the world. I was like 15 when I got it for Christmas. But to give that knob a little tweak, and put some English on the blip and slice it right across the screen - - I was uber. (Wish I still knew where it was, it might actually be worth some money - IF it still worked.)

Only really expensive TV's had remote controls. And yes, I remember when we got our first color tv; when the only radio stations on FM played classical music (there were about 3 of them in my home town.) When 8-track tapes were the NEW thing, and when Video Tape Recorders cost right at 2grand - the first one I saw had a remote control, attached by a 15 foot wire to the machine.

The Tonight Show = Johnny Carson.
Star Trek was running in prime time.
Buying a good Needle (I preferred to use the word Stylus) for the turntable.

Oh well, so much for us old people. But, I've played EQ since Beta 3. OMIGAWD, wonder how many hours I have logged in. hehehe.

Being 17 now, the only Transformers treatment I had was the movie, bought it on tape casette when I was a wee lad - the movie had a pretty dark theme, (compared to the series), but it was so awesome - I still remember the soundtrack :p I was gonna post a picture of Optimus on his deathbed but I didn't want to break any hearts, so I chose a picture of his final fight with Megatron, woot :p

I think my favourite, (keeping in mind I was a movie fan, not a series fan), was Soundwave. :)

Btw, Unicron scared me, heh ;(

Edit: Sweet background btw rab :D
