Farming Tmaps

I was just wondering where you guys think the best places to farm for tmaps are - simples, VE, E, and Mod are mostly what im after.

thx in advance ;)
 
As far as I know, they are just randomly dropped in all dungeons. Not sure if certain places drop them more then others, but I guess I have seen more in Kedge Keep then most places. Also, I do not think HHK can drop TMaps, but I could be lying again.
 
The drop rate on tmaps is such that farming them by killing things really isn't an option. If you want to be able to "farm" a decent number of tmaps, take up fishing.

farm whatever you'd farm for plat, buy the tmaps off listsold. they're so random, it really doesn't work to "farm" them
 
Yeah, any of the higher end dungeons will have some, but they're very random.

I've had the best luck in Kedge, I think, although I've also gotten plenty of maps from FG, RSM, EC, and iirc a few from Eld's. I don't remember for sure, but I don't think I've seen any from the first 3 floors of HK despite spending a long time there. I've also never seen any drop in sorc's lab, even in deep (although I've only spent maybe 4 or 5 hours there).
 
what is the catch rate on map? at the way it skills up, think i could buy a few hundred on them faster :)

i have gotten a few from Lasanth, only 1 from meilB, a few from dragons in DN, none from anywhere in Lab
 
I've gotten a lot from Lasanth (A lot of Very Easy, a few Easy and one Moderate), but I've also spent a lot of time there...

I have spent a huge amount of time in HHK and now that you mention it I dont recall getting any tmaps there. Could just be RNG but having done well over 100 AAs there while farming mystic ash. Ill check with Gonobn and see if he recalls getting any there.
 
They drop all the time in Kedge. I've gotten 3-5 tmaps every time I've grouped there. Of course, I've only hunted there about 3 times (~2 hrs each), so it could have just been the RNG favoring me.

Hey, dev-types! Quick question, do Tmaps have a higher probability of dropping in certain zones? or is kedge just a pretty good bet due to the large number of low-hp mobs, thus, quicker kills?

I usually have the same experience, although last time I went we didn't get a single one. It was pretty weird.

I blame gtoo.

Buying them is definetly the easiest route to go. As far as rate, at max fishing skill with all the easily obtainable mod items, I'd say I average about 3 maps of various difficulty for every 2 bags (400) bait. It takes a few hours to go through that much bait, but certainly doesn't require much concentration. It's a great activity for while you're doing something else on another toon, or IRL. Still a better map/time ratio than any place I've encountered grouping, and far better than soloing.

Haven't spent as much time there but yeah. Haven't seen a single map in there as far as I remember.

It's not zone-based, but rather, some mobs drop maps more often than others, generally based on level and the area.
 
yaralith used to be amazing for simple maps, but that was on the very first days of them being released so shrug, no idea if it still stands

i had a few bags full of them just from a couple levels there
