F comcast.

While I am never unwilling to jump on a F-Comcast bandwagon...what did they do this time?

Not that I have ever used Comcast as it is not available here, I have Never heard anything good said about thier connections and Service.

Really? Comcast is 100% better than Millennium Digital Media. I never had a connection, they were constantly broke or extremely bogged down and slow. I was actually loading pages faster through dial-up! But now ihave ditched them both and i am using Verizon DSL, and so far they have been great. I have never lost my connection, and my pages load faster than they did on my cable. I have noticed that on large downloads that i do take a little longer, but no biggie, I am still moving (surfing wise) faster than i did on cable.

The downfall of cable is because if you live in a populated area your bandwidth gets dropped significantly. DSL doesnt suffer from that problem even though most DSL is lower max bandwidth than cable.

Personally, I would love to be in a 6 meg cable area or be around the new DSL they are testing with 15 meg.

I have been on Comcast in the past and they aren't terrible. But by the Comcast took over where my parents lived (when I was still back at home) a lot of the kinks were worked out. When it was AT&T Broadband things really sucked - went 6 months with maybe 3 weeks of total connectivity But that is what happens with new technology - specially when supply isnt ready to meet demand.

I was upset. Comcast is probably the best broadband service provider I have had the previlage of using, but I have not used many. Still there is no excuse for 2 days of broken service, and responses like "uh wait 72 hours and call us back."

All I have to say is this...

DNS... not informing users... smooth

/thank Verizon for never doing that to their customers...

This is not a crappy Comcast DNS issue that I speak of... this is just pure crap. Something on their end just totally bit the dust. A large portion of people in the bay area had crappy ass internet for 2 days. Some people probably didn't notice, but those of us that live on our connections did. It says much about their service when a lot of people, including myself, don't even use Comcast DNS's.
