Hi.
I really like the server. Very impressed. I've been making a note of hailing every NPC I come across to see what they say, if they provide quests, etc, and trying to experience every zone within my level range before it greens out. The content developers throw in some really cool stuff (love the Grabbit quest in Grobb, even though it killed me the first time). Its just a shame that a lot of it goes unnoticed because many choose to (or are forced to, depending on class) breeze through the early levels in the higher population zones. Can't say I blame them, because the population is strong, but fledgling.
Anywho, I think it might be a good idea to implement some sort of 'explorer reward system' that promotes people to spread out and try new zones. Just a few ideas that came to mind:
1) If you are new to a zone, mobs give more exp for an alotted amount of time/kills. Could be ten kills, a hundred, or maybe just one big chunk for the first of each mob type you kill. Or maybe a certain amount of hours, after which the ZEM returns to normal for you (no penalty for grinders, just a slight bonus for explorers).
2) Some sort of 'wow, cool' quest that requires you to visit each zone and kill something, or get a rare drop from each zone. The reward doesn't have to be overpowering, or powering at all. Maybe just a novelty item that says its cool to explore...
3) Item drops and more cool named mobs. I know there is already a bunch, I've seen them, but a slight increase in some zones couldn't hurt (those bandits in the Wastes have zero drops, not even copper). Maybe no-drop stuff that classes could solo for upgrades. Then they will find out what a neat zone it is and bring friends the next time.
That's it, I think.
Oh, just wanted to say what a great idea those Adept mobs are, but how about having them shout something to the zone when they spawn? I see a bunch of them just sitting there in silence, waiting for people to fight. Would be cool if they said 'Hey, come try to kill me!' (though more subtle). Might promote more people to band together and try them.
I'm immune to flames, so if my suggestions suck, feel free to abuse me. Cya in-game.
