Expansion Question

On live, I had updated through LDoN. After I quit, Live, I tossed all my CD-ROM's into the trash. I had accumulated quite a few over the course of 5 years playing. In the past couple months, I have again been drawn in by SoD. I love it.

Unfortunately, I was only able to find a few of the content CD's at stores. I bought Trilogy and Shadows of Luclin and installed. When I patched through live, I even logged onto my old acct on Zek (used to be Rallos Zek), All of my updates were still intact. Even though I do not have PoP loaded onto my computer, I am still able to play PoP on my Live acct.

My question:

If I do not have PoP loaded onto my Hard Drive, do I have PoP in SoD? Even though I do have it on Live?

You can run the eq live patcher and download any content you're missing from the advanced options. Simply select PoP and any other desired expansions and run a complete file check. This is, of course, assuming that you legally purchased the expansions in the first place. /cough.

Thanks Has,

I am currently updating my files. Honestly, I really did pay full price for each expansion, even pre-loaded it at the time. So, just curious...since I am only now becoming aware of this...would this be why some of the features were not available to me on SoD? Such as the targeting ring? Have I been playing for these past few months without PoP in SoD...if so, I feel like an idiot. I just assumed that because I could play it on live, that I'd be good on SoD...not that they are the same game, but I thought that the files would need to be on my comp for me to be able to access it on Live.../shrug

Thanks again for your help, and I'll post to let you know how it goes after this long ass patch from Live.

The missing target ring is not because you are missing expansions. I have all of the expansions installed and I also cannot see the target ring in SoD. I can however see it on Live.

I would be willing to bet that you are having some of the same issues I am having. Do you also see distorted loading screen? Like only half the image and its stretched. Almost like it wants to span two monitors.

EQLive has done a lot of changes to their UI to make it look and feel like EQ2. Im betting that this is part of the problem. Im also missing the Options bar that normally sits at the top of the UI and cannot get it back. On EQlive that bar was replaced with a small button that expands like the Windows Start menu.
This is why I think it is their changes. But who knows.

Anyway if you find a fix for any of these problems please let me know.

yea, we are having the same problem...thanks for your response. I also believe that it has something to do with our video cards as well...

I am running a GeForce 6800 AGP 8x.

I'll keep ya posted on anything I find out.

Just thought I'd mention that I am also missing the target ring. I have all expansions and was fully patched to live as of just a couple of weeks ago. My graphics card is an ATI RADEON x800XT 256MB.

Would it be foolish to inquire if you turned on the targeting ring in options? I know that it is off by default for some, based on their decisions in the options screen.
