Expanded Seeker Lore

Dalayan Beginner
imagine, we finally break into the lake of ill omen zone, where the ikisith have set up a shrine in the castle portion. they are non aggressive, and from here the main quest take a drastic turn. the lizzys send you to retrieve pages from a diary. when the pages are collected you receive a completed diary of <enter new god name here> that tells of his children (all the current gods of dalay) coming of age and how jayla discovered the true nature of magic, and with it a ritual that could seal him from the realm. The hitch is it would take all of his children to perform the ritual to seal the realm, and all the children to unseal it. He feared, that even althuna would be convinced to aid in this test of power, being promised that it would on be temporary. But the father predicted that the ritual to unseal would be betrayed by the power hungry tarhyl, or the wicked marlow. but he hid a secret power in the beings of dalaya to become as powerful, if not more so, than his children. his hope is that whoever discovered his guides, would understand them, and try to master the arts of psionics, and unleash a fury on the world to produce the strongest dalayans possible. And to this end one day may be freed, to watch over his children. after reading the diary you go on various quests to obtain parts of the fathers guide, which eventually forces you to confront each god, and deal with the seekers harshly. sometime fairly early in the sequence of events, the players should gain access to the other realm where you will be met with some resistance. the father wants only the strong in his realm, but as a natural born dalayan you can travel between the realms, but are you powerful enough to overcome the trials ahead to free the true father of dalaya. this would give good reason for the kazulean campaign, and their fierce ways. and completely turn around the perspective that almost everything surrounding the gods from the beginning of time has been a lie to cover up the truth about their origins. imagine everything you have ever known about dalayas deities is false, and you can bring the light of truth to everyone...including the seekers.

There is quite a bit of punctuation in there....maybe alot less vodka for you. That is pretty good lore writing there tho ember maybe you should apply to be a quest writer.

Its somewhat comforting to know there are other players who care about the main quest of the game and the huge cliffhanger that it ended on years ago. I guess its hard (pointless?) to develop a whole bunch of quest and lore content for only a very small sub population of the server who can actually beat Rujik to advance the quest to the end.

Ya weaving in high end raiding with quests kind of makes it really hard for the other 90% of the players

Less vodka for me, more punctuation for you. I went blind trying to read it.

I agree, I stopped reading the original post after the third line because I started to go cross-eyed. It's not so much that the post lacked punctuation. Most people can read a passage that is poorly punctuated and still garner some degree of understanding from the passage. Sure, proper punctuation can make reading and understanding easier for the reader. It can also help a writer successfully express emphasis on a specific part of a passage. Still, the lack of punctuation does not make a passage completely unreadable.

That said, there's this writing tool that exists which breaks up relatively long passages making them easier to read. By separating long passages into parts, it makes it easier for the eyes to follow and the reader has more chance to pay more attention and finish reading the passage. These simple to use tools are called paragraphs.

I used to get griped at for the same thing, heh....

It was still a pretty cool idea in a Planes of Power kinda way..

I just figured that there needs to be a reason for an expansion, and not just, oh hey here are new zones. And with the above idea, everything can be written into the natural story line...we could even make an akheva town be a place you have to navigate to get between realms, and that could tie mop into the story as well. the possibilities are pretty much endless.

I would love to be a quest writer, but i work 60 to 80 hours a week and what free time i get, i usually spend with my four daughters. at best a could only spend a couple hours a week on it, and i don't think i could do much with such limited time.

Not to derail, but wasn't the reason the lands of magic blew up or whatever because of a copywrite issue? And I could swear I looked up quite awhile back or read or was told or something, heh, that that had basically expired? Maybe I'm making all that up, but if that all actually was the case, couldn't they be brought back in some kind of Abyss-like surreal dream state or something? Or am I just tripping (especially considering some zones from that expansion actually are around) and there was just some reason like, we thought these zones sucked and needed to go? lol...

actually i was thinking more along the lines of making the whole kaezul /refuge thing be a complex plot to, identify the strongest of the non lizzys. and use an akhevan city as a portal between the realms, than can be used like hates fury and hates b to distinguish the access between the high end raiders and the other 90%.
