Exclude & listsold

I am unsure if this has been suggested in a previous thread (Searched, failed to find relevant results , etc)

Would it be possible to get certain results(users) excluded or ignored when using the /cmd listsold next command.
i.e /cmd listsold BLOCK ACTYPETWO
and never to see him and his dirty augs again.

I am not sure on how many people actually run through all of the public listsolds but with the new delay added to using the command it has become even more annoying to try to find a certain item and have to run through EVERY SINGLE AUGMENT SELLING CHAR and have to wait longer to skip past them.

I had always disliked running through Agriz Bgriz Cgriz and what not but it seems to be even more annoying now with the delay/inability to skip past these guys and the growing number of them.

If there is some horrible restriction to implementing this or having it take too much effort then :(

use /cm listview 20 and choose who you want to listsold?
can't shift-up-enter to run through sellers quickly using /cmd listview 20 then /cmd listsold [name]

I like this idea of having your own personal filter on the listsold. It'd be nice as the OP said to be able to skip over sellers if it's something you are never interested in (such as myself with potion sellers). Nothing wrong with people selling their augs, potions, whatever...just doesn't interest some people and listsold can get really tedious to look through, especially going LD in the middle of searching....start over...

Not a bad idea. I agree with Kukov, the whole process can be really tedious to look through. I personally think it would be more beneficial to set up a web based feature to browse the listsold (not necessarily with a search feature). This way you wouldn't have to add any more in game commands and you wouldn't have to be stuck in a little tiny bank browsing the never ending list in a tiny little chat box that gets spammed, unless set up especially for browsing listsolds.

So apparently the idea of a web based feature to browse the listsold isn't as grand as I thought it would be. I guess it would murder the database and cause server crashes, so just nm me!

It wouldn't be so bad if the database was only queried at set intervals. Like maybe every hour. That way all of the stuff you viewed would have been pre-loaded. The web interface could just parse the data from the hourly query. It could give you an indication as to the last time it was updated. People wouldn't be directly accessing the in game database, just a copy really. I'm sure people wouldn't mind an hour-old snapshot just to get an idea of what people are selling.

Once it's web based in some form, It's extremely easy for someone to reference the raw data to make a search feature.

Hmmm, yes, quite so.

Which seems to go against Wiz's intentions--more specifically, his policy (http://forum.shardsofdalaya.com/index.php?topic=11343.msg86139#msg86139)--regarding the Listsold System, unless something has completely changed very recently regarding this?:

Parsing the Listing System
Anyone caught parsing the logs/farming the database/whatever to create a searchable database of the listing system that they share with others will be immediately and irrevocably banned.

Having an item-searchable sales system has effectively trashed the economy of any MMOG they have been implemented to - we don't disable it just to be mean to you, we're trying to limit the effects of inflation and hoarding created by easily searchable databases.

Since it takes so much time to set up a snapshot, it is acceptable to make one for your own use only.

A user-input database of who is selling what like the one Shrek is making is fine - you're free to make all the third party market systems you want, but you will not use the listing system in this way.

More recently updated information (http://forum.shardsofdalaya.com/index.php?topic=11366.msg86329#msg86329)--(this new information really ought be updated in the Policy Plaza thread):
Effective when this post is made, anyone caught parsing the logs/farming the database/whatever to create a searchable database of the listing system that they share with others will be immediately and irrevocably banned.

NOTE: We no longer permit crawling the listsold system to make your own searchable snapshot.

Update: Crawling the listsold system to make any kind of database is now against the rules. Anyone we catch doing this will be banned.

and it looks like Wiz may have something in the works for the Listsold System!

The listing system is intended to reduce a player's ability to screw with the economy and monopolize prices. I have some ideas on how to make it more convenient without adding searching however.

So, having rooted about on the forums, the information I've found seems kinda consistent in that the Listsold System is really not intended to have any searching functionality. ;)

This is what I was implying. Thanks for adding a bibliography.
