Its a Civ / Age of Empires game I've been playing at work recently. For those with not much else to do during raids / work, you might want to give it a try. Follow the quests and watch your resource levels, is about the best advice I can say to start out. For the first 7 days your flagged as a beginner and cannot be attacked, so this gives you plenty of time to build up a city to start out with. You can then start attacking other flats/lakes/valleys or towns to increase your domain.

There is a kickback program of some sort for advertising / signing up new people. Although I haven't read over it much.

I've only been playing about two days and its kept my attention, otherwise I wouldn't even mention it.

My buddy has been playing this for a while, he enjoys it immensely but says it's definitely a broken game...
 
Ya its probably been around awhile and I have never seen it. Usually happens when I'm looking for something to do at work!
 
It's a work in progress. Forums I post on played it for a while when it first came out. High-end content was and is still severely broken. It's fun as shit though until you're up there in rank and everything takes 1-4 weeks to build. You have to start paying a lot of real cash to be able to keep up.
 
You just gave me an idea -

Toll stations between raid tiers. Welcome to Sanctum that will be 30 dollars.
 
You have to use items that speed up building times, and while you can randomly get some or get the game coins to buy it thru the once a day daily quest, they cost real money. The very highest alliances usually have a core that buys the tokens and will obviously have the best castles, troops, etc. Thus making it impossible to reach #1 without paying a large amount of money.

Besides that, it's a pretty fun game.
 
Ya I'm enjoying and finding my self just stopping at the comp to build something here and there. Like before dinner, watch a movie, what not. Its a great filler game.
 
Ikariam.org is a lot like this, but the "end game" is less annoying. While they do supply payment options that will provide benefits, said options do not make or break your ability to do well. I've been playing it for a while and enjoy it a lot.
