Erimal faction intended to lower charm prices?

I know that when charms were sold in Shadowhaven ( forget name on sod ) that they were the same set price for all people because there wasn't any way ( to my knowledge ) to raise faction. With Erimal and the MQ, it's currently possible to buy charms for cheaper than the "intended" price, I was just trying to get some clarification if that's working as intended or if it was an oversight when you moved the charm vendor to Erimal.

Currently I'm told that the 215k charms can be bought for 190k and the 538k charm can be bought for roughly 480k. Which is a huge savings from what some people paid.

Thanks,
Zhak!

Worth bearing in mind that charms were *considerably* easier to afford before gem and DHK cash nurfs...
Not that I'm for or against this in any way, I'd rather it was a set price for everyone... (a set lower price for everyone would be nice, since the above mentioned changes...)

atm it is a reward for doing the Main Quest, just like Ancient and Relic spells are, I don't see anything wrong with that

Agree being ally with em. Would be a nice reward .

I think a 58kpp discount on the best charm would be a bit excessive just for having ally faction.

Have you taken the time to do the entire MQ? Its pretty extensive, but yeah, 58k is well, a lot of money, but some sort of reduction would be pretty sweet!

Not to mention that such discount is almost enough to buy like 2 more powerfull charms (36k charms) for alts or something. (Which are then also heavily discounted!)

Dead horse since wiz already said it was an oversight but still..

there's absolutely NO reason to give 58k to join a faction (and nothing if you dont join this faction). the item is available for everyone, it is not a reward for anything (you already get a HUGE reward for the MQ), it is just an item everyone can buy.

Concerning charm prices in general, I think they should be lowered across the board. The old charm prices existed when PP/gems were much more plentiful in DHK and other zones. The value of the PP has gone up, and thus prices have plummeted on every player sold item, but charms haven't adapted to the market. Upcoming guilds are being given a disadvantage in addition to their late start. Not only are they fighting against the clock to advance and compete with established guilds, but they must farm longer than their predecessors to earn the PP to equip their main tanks and other members. This is an annoying handicap, and it would be nice if it were lessened.

Maybe this was intentional! imho it's shouldnt be supereasy to buy a 550k charm! sure the old day guilds/players have much more money because DHK was a goldmine, but that doesnt mean the prices should now be lowered. hell if they cut the prices in half... do i get 50% of my plat back then?

It never was, and it never will be. The vast sums of pp acquired during the DHK golden days are drying up. If the 560k charm was made 460k tomorrow, it would still be out of reach for every guild on the server except maybe Forsaken/Ruin, and would remain that way for months and months.

Theoretical question, theoretical answer. You bought it with funds gathered while DHK was a goldmine and gems were worth more to NPC merchants, so no.

Actually, i gathered all my pp for my charm after that time. But thats just a detail :D

Point is, while its not fair (i guess) for current guilds to have to farm much longer for charms. It's not fair to cut prices for those that already have charms, they also spend quite a lot of time gathering pp and now all of a sudden their highly expensive charms would become worth much less.

its called inflation guys, as has been said, the value of platinum is now down and the price of luxury goods has gone way up, meaning that they now cost "more" in the sense that it takes a significantly longer amount of work to collect the same amount of money it would have taken back before the gem nerfs

You can at least farm more tradeskill items now and sell them to players.
You had lower chances of doing this back in the days when "you could earn money easily".

I won't comment the other charms, but I think that the 36k ones are well worth it.
