Enchanter pet weapon question

I was wondering how the enchanter animation pet works weapon wise. Can they take 2 hand weapons? I didnt know if it was like the spec pet where the weapon is just the model, or if its summoned with a real shield and dagger or what, and can they be replaced. Just curious. Thanks.

Enchanter pets have a full set of animations, they're basically invis, oldschool player models with just the weapons opaque, and interchangeable.

ok

So if you give a low level enchanter pet a rusty 2 hander, will they equip it and do more damage?

used to play a level 63 enchanter so I can answer this.

The pet always takes the lower delay weapon and rejects anything slower. So a rusty 2 hander will be rejected.

Actually delay has nothing to say, when giving pets weapons. I don't know if you can give enchanter pet weapons, but I know that only damage have an effect when giving pets weapons.

he is saying

he is saying when equiping it does, for example if you gave a pet 2 weapons it would take the one with the lowest delay. I wish they would take the one with the most damage, because like you say delay doesnt affect swing.

It used to for all pets. Two mage daggers and a good hit of haste and you have two very busy daggers carving stuff up.

Delay has nothing to do with the speed that you hit.
If you had a 100000/1000000 weapon (ratio 1:10) and you had a 9/9 weapon, then if you gave pet A weapon A and pet B weapon B, then pet A would hit for a 100000 damage weapon at some delay. Pet B would hit for a damage 9 weapon (unless its basic hit would be higher without weapon), with the same delay as the pet that had the 1000000 delay weapon.

EDIT, I'm not wrong, and to write it quickly:
ONLY weapon damage and weapon proc affects your pets hit. Delay does NOT.
