Enchanter pet Help?

Hello, I have played a magician to lvl 66 on live, just to mak known that I have a decent understanding of pets in eq.

Comming to WR again, I felt the need for change and made an enchanter to duo with my brother who is playing a magician. Now with him I dont have a problem, earth pet roots, his pet has excelent agro, so on so forth. But if i ever try to solo I pretty much have to take one light or dark blue at a time. My pet can not keep the mob off from me. Firstly, sitting will get the mob on me even if I cast no spells, also, any debuff like tash or enfeeblement will stick it to me till death, especially things like slow or a dot. I have luck only by pulling with pet, not casting untill 50%hp and then only using nukes.

My idea would be to add some kind of little taunting proc to enchanter pets perhaps? Or something allong those lines? I don't have experiance with higher level enchanter play, but from the magician perspective this is very very difficult. Thanks for you time,

Yalawen. :p

Enc is not a pet class. You can solo with that pet fine the way it is, you just have to know how too. Pull with pet, root it, slow it. Let pet get aggro, then start nuking away. Again, enc is NOT a pet class. Enc pet will never be like a mages pet.

Also, enchanters spell generate a HUGE amount of agro, makes it horrible to solo in some situations...I've seen warrior taunt fail horribly a number of times because the chanter looked at the mob too early :(

Thats one hard thing to deal with. Try sending a high level chanter online a tell on how they soloed at your level and such. Good luck!

i could solo just fine with my chanter pet altho i cant remember how i did it.

It was either using root or waiting for it to gather more agro before casting (or both)

But at higher levels i started using charmed pets

Also, you can try grouping because chanters are good in that situation. They have mez and root for adds, clarity for casters, and haste for tanks.

About enchanter pet's.
I've notice on Winter Roar the pet was fully controlable.
But in EQ Live the pet is not controllable but is use is to protect his master.
I thing it would be the same on WR.
As someone said Enchanter is not a Pet Class and this possibilty gives enchanter too much power in my mind.

I noticed that the spell was free of charge and on live the spell cost 1 tiny dagger per pet. I think it's important to pay the pet.

I know WR is not EQ live but I think this 2 rules make the class balance more equal !

Enchanter wimps. Not making them controllable was overbalancing. And pet components are really just a pain in the rear.
