Earth Elemental Illusion Size

Is it by design that the Illusion: Earth Elemental scales to the body size of the character?

I purchased the Spirit of the Earthmother hoping to use it as an effective minor shrink for my Ogre, and got a surprise when I transformed into a friggin HUGE Earth Elemental :)

To cut to the end of the story, I was dissapointed twice, and hope maybe something can change.

In retrospect, I don't really mind the lack of shrink (even though that was my whole reason to get it) because it really makes sense from an RP standpoint in one sense. If I'm not actually transforming, but only getting the ILLUSION, then I should be the origional size. However, dispite deffinately still being large in size, when I am in Earth form, I can no longer slam, which sucks.

1. Can it be changed so that a Large size race, under the Earth Illusion retains the ability to Slam?

2. If not, how about the RP excuse that the Spirit of the Earthmother actually transforms your body, and sets you to the standard Earth Elemental size?
 
The abilties are tied to the form, it is why someone given the illusion of an ogre CAN slam, and illusion Dark Elf grants Ultravision. It is only because of the difficulty of changing this that the ability to slam while shrunk does not go away. The other company was unwilling to make those changes in the long long ago.

Shrink items already exist. They are valuable, far more so than the 10pp you payed for an Earthmother. The last thing the shaman of Dalaya need is yet more of our abilities freely handed out to everyone with an open palm in the form of yet more gimme clickies.

Trial and error with both the new graphics and old graphics for both the ogre and the elemental should clear up your problem, however. At this time, I can no longer remember which of which was the "smaller". However, keep in mind the Elemental is KOS around sentients and most of the lesser mammal beings.
 
Man, if those things would make u shrink do you think they would actually still be like 25pp? Imho go buy (are any even droppable? :p) a shrink item or something!
 
I thought there was some kind of collar from mielb with a shrink clicky on it, large races only if I recall correctly.....which may very well not be the case

Collar of Recollection or something like that IIRC. I saw it go for a couple of hundred plat not too long ago - I can see how ogres yearn for such an item (Mielech, Paw instantly jump to mind).

Bingo. And speaking as a long-time shaman, I have no problem whatsoever with more items having the shrink ability. If the only reason I'm getting a group as a shaman is for my shrinks, I'm going to be bored out of my mind and would rather find something else to do. All it does is save me from having to load a spell every time a given person dies, since they can do it themselves.

What's more, a shrink to medium, human-ish size isn't removing that aspect of a shaman's utility. There are tons of times where the entire group needs a shrink because you're in close quarters. A shrink to medium size would be kind of ideal in that it would eliminate the worst of the problems for large races and those around them, without trivializing what some shamans see as being one of their special functions.
