Duo combos

Sure they can hold aggro, but anything beyond the "mid" difficulty exp zones like elds and SG a Ranger will have difficulty taking the damage especially with a shaman healer. This is of course if you are not raid geared tier 5+ or something. I don't know why people try reinventing the wheel when it comes to the Tank (PLATE CLASS) + healer mold. Sure it's neat to try out other things and I have seen people make some pretty unlikely duos work, but as far as practicality and how far you want to go with the duo when it comes to difficulty, Tank + Healer always.

The problem with the tank+healer is the lack of dps. So you substitute the tank for a dps melee class, which in my opinion takes the best place is the ranger. (As ********* and state ranger is a mix between warrior and druid).

Unfortunetly i was geared with tier 5-6 and could tank alot of stuff in EC, FG, MielC, etc, etc. Any other class would have alot more trouble in my opinion.

Yeah, a lot of choosing which duo is "best for you" is deciding where you want to end up in the game. Using a ranger and a shaman is great for people who want to be able to tank a decent amount duo and then can become good ranged dps in groups. However, if you are JUST duo'ing, then rangers kind of lose a lot of steam. Felyn and Drello can both tank some pretty high end duo mobs, but both of them have pretty ridiculous gear. I like using them to tank, though, because I use them for exp. groups as well, so not only do they act as a tank when I use them to snipe nameds, but they also fill in a different role in exp. groups and raids. Using a tank/healer for duo'ing doesn't let you have this luxury.

It all depends on what you want in the long run, not the short run.

Sounds like time split evenly between complete engrossment and enjoyment, and complete despair and frustration.

On the bard/cleric, while leveling up is it easier with this duo to just tank with the bard? I presume the cleric doesn't bring much to a kite...

Also - was thinking of trying out enchanter/druid... would the best way to handle this duo be to double charm stuff? or charm with chanter and nuke/heal with druid?

wow i never thought that id be tired of seeing these threads but i think i am now, No offence to anyone wanting to ask or you Fishbeak.

I think you can make it with any 2 class you want ive seen some strange combos the question is witch is more rewarding to you. I have a cleric rog combo yeah not the best choice for duoing but a nice choice to create groups with, but i like it tough i wouldnt have it any other way

but ill give ya a suggestion, Shaman/SK or shaman/Pal no dps there but as far as keeping your self alive and a nice addtion to any group i like these

Kirin Folken gets some decent dps off his shaman. I have been jealous of his combo for a while.

Freygh #1 dps, 900 dps shaman.

Joking aside 2x psn dot + rain is not too shabby. (1900 a tick from dots + 900 from the rain at max tomes, before crits and resists) Not the most mana efficient dps but who the fuck cares, cast canni more.
